The Breakfast was excellent. Nice Spread covering both Indian and Continental with Live Counter for Dosas. The ambience of The Roor Restaurant was very good. Spread covered Fruits, Salads, Sprouts, Juices and the main dishes

The behaviour of the Manager is very bad. Since I did not carry my wife's ID , he told me to leave the hotel, or when I could show the ID, then he would allow the check-in for my wife. He also said that he can allow me to check in since I was carrying my ID, but my wife has to wait in the lobby until she shows the ID, and I repeatedly requested him that I will submit by 7 pm at night. He is showing his system rule.

Peerless Hotel Durgapur is widely regarded as a fantastic hotel in Durgapur, offering a harmonious blend of location, comfort, service, and amenities. While a few guests have flagged minor service delays, the overwhelmingly positive feedback around its cleanliness, hospitality, and overall value makes it an excellent recommendation. The property is located just off the NH and is easily accessed by roads which are in a state of disrepair. Google Maps does a good job of directing to the correct roads (which should ideally be extensively repaired, but such is the situation at many places in WB). The property itself shows evident signs of wear and tear. There are notices of upgrades underway, but the present experience is poor. We booked a Superior room and were also directed to a ground within the premises as a place to park our vehicle. All parking spaces are uncovered. The poor training and awareness of the staff is a big contributor to a not so pleasant guest experience. At the check-in a staff member (perhaps floor manager of the restaurant) edged in because they wanted to have a conversation with the reception staff. And then continued to be at the reception without any consideration for the guest they displaced. So, we had to remind the staff to complete the check-in and hand the key card. Funny anecdote - the hotel does not seem to provide two key cards for a room. The gentlemen at the reception mentioned that "everyone takes one key card only" - which is odd given guests could decide to have separate times at which they use the room at the hotel. It is usual to assume that each visit to a food line at the buffet should be with a new/fresh plate. However, the restaurant staff are not familiar with the concept. So they never clear the table of stacked used plates. They come over multiple times to ask about food but do not check if the guest needs a water refill. This was the pattern on both days of dinner. Also, they talk with each other in loud voices across the room - something that would not be common in other properties. The rooms suffer from similar lack of care and trained staff. Our allocated room had the main curtains off the hook at places and it was obviously never fixed, the sofa has grease stains that were not cleaned. However, the more alarming item was that electrical switches are lacking the spring action (for even the electrical outlets) and no one has gone ahead and fixed it. There were two guests to the room - yet the housekeeping staff turned the room around by stacking the pillows on one end of the bed. A rather odd habit I'd say. Both housekeeping staff and front desk were flabbergasted when asked about the absence of hand towels at the basin. Eventually had to purchase a set from the nearby Junction Mall. The bed linen needs better wash or change as well. The large windows in the room are grimy on the outside and become ugly in the evening lights. The breakfast spread is poor in terms of fiber and protein options. But perhaps that’s what the guests want. The dessert section is not worth a mention - and I think that the gulab jamuns on offer on the 16th were from the same stock that was put out for dinner on the 15th. I am sure there are better properties which are value for money.
