Hotel has been spruced and has the current facilities like multiple USB charging facilities, WiFi in rooms, workstation areas for use. A fairly decent English breakfast. The downside, though very good for security is that cards to activate floor selection a bit troublesome, don't always work

We stayed for one night on our way back from our cruise. It was convenient and clean. Staff were friendly and breakfast was great. Only snag was we went for a walk behind the hotel and got our cell phone stolen from some druggie on the sidewalk. In other words it is not safe to walk behind the hotels, which put a dampner on our stay in Durban. We found using a uber the only safe option to get from place to place. Just a warning to naive travellers like us!!!

We made a last minute decision to book this hotel for 7 nights. The rooms were smaller than expected but liveable for 4 of us. The breakfast did not have much variety and was the same option (including fruit) every day. The housekeeping was good but arrived to two bath towels and no additional toilet roll. Staff very friendly and security was excellent. In hindsight, I wouldn't have stayed 7 nights but we were stuck with flights. It was their Winter special so you definitely got what you paid for. I would stay again but not for that long of a period. The location was good fir us as a family of surfers.

Our room on the 23rd floor had panoramic sea views and was well appointed and very clean. The staff were friendly but the breakfast buffet, in my opinion, was not quite as good as those provided by the other hotels on our tour of South Africa. The area around the hotel felt run down and had seen better days and for this reason I would not return unfortunately.

I first stayed here in 2013. I revisited this hotel in 2022 as I needed a last minute accommodation to attend a colleagues wedding. I was surprised to find that hotel hasn't changed much. We booked family room, we had a beautiful view of pier though, staff was friendly. However we were cautious not to walk around freely in the area as it's been known to be in an unsafe area. As soon as you step out of the building or even cross the street, you're in an unsafe zone. Even in daylight you aren't safe there. Food was good but limited for vegatarians. Breakfast packs are provided on checkout, which is ideal for those returning to work that day. No candles and matches in rooms and this is concerning during loadshedding or power outages. Hotel is currently upgrading their parking but still hotel is placed in an unsafe area so one needs to be cautious.

I stayed during the Easter holidays. Unfortunately due to the flooding the hotel had lots of cancellations. However I made it down to durban without any problems. My room was on the 15th floor. Nice large room with great views over the Indian ocean. Even got a nice birthday surprise upon check in. Recommend the breakfast buffet. Big selection of nice full English breakfast and some tea's and coffee. All the staff are very welcome and friendly all over the hotel. Easy to get taxis, close to the bus stop and beach.Safe location.Will stay here again.
