Quality Inn Durand I-69

Booked a room for the weekend for a family event. The Manager's I dealt with during my stay was amazing! They went above & beyond, recommended places to visit and eat. Big thank you to DJ & Jenny for taking great care of us. The housekeepers were friendly and caring. Hotel smelled fresh, room was amazing, breakfast was good. The pool & hot tub was shut down for the season, Jenny did tell me that prior to booking. We will definitely be back this summer to stay again.

I mainly stayed here to see Pere Marquette 1225 pull the Polar Express but also some local attractions. Not a ton of lodging options nearby but the rooms were definitely comfortable especially after the drive from work 4 hours away. Close to the Interstate at downtown.

The staff at this hotel literally saved my husband's life. He drove to Durand solo from Florida and got ill shortly arrival. Jillian, the housekeeper, noticed that he was ill and o brought him dinner. Carlos, the manager, saw him staggering in the hall and kept watch on him until he was convinced that medical attention was required at which point he phoned an ambulance. The doctors said my husband would most like have died within a few hours without medical intervention. When I arrived, the staff were so solicitous and helpful. They made sure his vehicle was in a safe place, that my stay was comfortable and they even arranged to have someone pick me up at the Flint Airport when I flew back the following week to drive my husband's car back to FL. Jen, the general manager was amazing. Yes, the rooms are a little outdated but extremely clean and the beds are very comfortable. The staff is wonderful & I'll always stay there when I visit.

I found this hotel to be right off exit i 69 highway which was very easy getting to it and getting back on the highway the next morning. All the staff i encountered were very pleasant in the hallways, front desk and breakfast. Everything was good

Just arrived back home from staying here for 2 nights. Went to open the dresser drawer to put clothes away and there was a tied up bag of trash! A liquid had leaked all over the drawer, and stunk! I would say our room was probably not cleaned to well upon our arrival, the drawer wasn't even opened! Had a half a roll of toilet paper and 1 towel each. When we turned on the air conditioning, it had an overwhelming smell of piss. Couldn't use it. Didn't feel very safe as the side entrance was not secured, anyone could just walk in. As far as the breakfast, what a joke. Staff was rude and not helpful at all. Wanted to stand outside and smoke. Sorry to say, we won't be back!!

I had specifically reserved a first floor room as I am temporarily handicapped. I had also reserved a room with two beds. When we arrived I was told that I was getting a room on second floor with one bed. And that they were booked and nothing else was available. I insisted that the desk clerk all the owner, and it was decided to move someone (not yet checked in) to the second floor. My sister’s reservation/confirmation was for three adjacent rooms on first flor, but upon arriving she was told only one first floor room was available, with the other two on the second floor. My niece arrived to find that her reservation, made through ***********, was non-existent! There was a sign in each room about not taking towels, etc., but when our room was cleaned, the dirty towels were not replaced! Also the washcloths looked like they had been used for cleaning cloths.. they were grey! The breakfast was ok. Pretty standard for this type hotel. I would not recommend but it is the only place close to Bancroft where event was taking place. Next time I think I will drive further and stay somewhere else.
