Dunkeld House Hotel

Location was good and hotel staff very friendly, however the costs were above the usual asking prices for food and drinks. A bit on the expensive side.

This venue is really a hidden gem up to a point , the Chef and kitchen ( paticularly the Haddock and Poached Eggs at Breakfast which is Michelin Star level ) the spa and swimming pool are kept to a good standard of hygene , however there is a serious problem with service which is evident from the staff behind the bar ( Saturday 4th May to be specific ) where it was plainly evident for all of the guests seated in the lounge to witness the grief that was being given to the Restaurant Host and other waiting staff by the two individulas behind the bar who were making their life's a misery by poor attitude and unhelpfulness when rightfully they were chasing restaurant drink orders which were painfully slow on deliverance attributed totally to the ineptness of the bar staff . Its about time that Providence Hotels boss Mr Neil Hughes and Blantyre Capital and Fairtree Alternative Real Estate were made aware of this as it is not fair on the efforts made by the other staff who are being dragged down needlessly by the bar staffs under performance , ineptness and demeanour .

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and our travel planner suggested Dunkeld House. WOW. One of our favorite places on our two week trip to England and Scotland . Such a picturesque location on the banks of the Tay River. We did the 1 mile + walk into the town of Dunkeld along the river and found it so charming. Also walked across the bridge into Birnam and saw the Beatrix Potter Museum as well as the Birnam Oak and Sycamore trees, which are massive and gorgeous. The service at Dunkeld House was so friendly and helpful, our waiter Will was fantastic. The Health Club has a beautiful pool and jacuzzi and the fitness room is well equipped, a mix of new and some dated equipment , but clearly the best of all the places we stayed on our vacation. Highly recommend this place!

Hotel has superb river views and grounds ideal for walking. Hotel itself was very comfortable and welcoming although we were not blessed with sunshine but heavy rain during our two night stay. Had breakfast both mornings and dinner in the lounge the second evening and had no complaints about either. We thought the lounge food menu choice was better than the actual dinner menu so that was what we had and enjoyed a nice fish cake then rump steaks with a peppercorn sauce. We upgraded our rear facing room to a river view room and that was much nicer plus it was a walk-in shower as opposed to the original over-bath shower which can be awkward if you are a bit older. The bedroom was smallish but adequate with a couple of chairs at the window. We didn’t avail ourselves of the pool or leisure complex but it appeared very nice and we understood that massages were available. The staff were very obliging at all times and there appeared to be plenty of them. There is a lovely riverside walk of around 15 minutes from the hotel directly into Dunkeld itself where there are several coffee and gift shops plus further hotels and eateries. Would we return - most definitely!

Just arrived home after an amazing stay the place is just so beautiful and peaceful food absolutely gorgeous we had the bothy room which was beautiful, bed very very squeaky with the slightest movement tho but is very comfy. Will definitely return

I treated myself to a full body massage at the Dunkeld House Hotel spa today - and what a treat it was! I had Renesme as a therapist and she was wonderful. The room was lovely and calm, the towels and blankets were pristine and clean and the atmosphere was so relaxing. Renesme was very respectful and polite when chatting and asked me what my priorities were for the massage and i told her it was to just relax....the massage was the perfect pressure, Renesme worked on my areas of high tension really well and I felt so relaxed afterwards. Customer service when booking and arriving was also excellent and the pool area, changing rooms and spa area were lovely and clean. I would highly reccomend the Dunkeld house hotel spa to anyone who wants a bit or R&R even if just for a few hours. I will definitely be back :-) Thank you

Beautiful location. Check in easy. Room lovely. Clean spacious. Shames towels a little old. Spa area good. Food over priced for quality received. Breakfast was good the sausage and mushroom was very good. Potato chips were not to standard.

We visited for afternoon tea on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and couldn’t have had a more wonderful experience. The grounds are breathtaking, the conservatory which we ate in is filled with natural light through the large windows and I haven’t stopped thinking about the haggis bon bons since our visit!! The young lady who served us (I didn’t catch her name!) was so attentive and welcoming.. even giving us boxes to take our cakes home in because we couldn’t finish everything! A truly perfect day and we’ll most certainly be back soon ❤️
