Diamond Waters Caravan Park

I checked in in the afternoon and everything seemed okay. Had a walk around the grounds and it seemed nice, problem was when I left I locked the cabin from the outside. When I came back from work late that night (around midnight) I found out that the cabin would not, in any way, lock from the inside! Also, there was just a hole punched out where a key should go too so that was no help. I had a look at the website and there was no mention at all of an after hours number (although at around midnight they weren't exactly going to get a locksmith in). I had literally no other choice than to stay in an unlockable cabin! You'd think they would be apologetic that all my valuables and myself were in danger throughout the night but they said that it wasn't a valid excuse for a refund and joked that I "felt safe enough to spend the night with us, we don't see your stay with us fit to be refundable". I asked them over email multiple times what exactly their solution would be at that time and they never once gave me an answer.

With only 2 cabins available one pet friendly one not. We called and booked for our little family for a one night stay and were put in the pet friendly room. We don’t have pets, we didn’t ask for a pet friendly room and when we arrived after hours in the rain it wasn’t with the hassle to ask to swap but the image of my socks after less then half an hour in the cabin is disgusting. When I handed the keys back I asked why we were put in the pet friendly room when we don’t have pet? Response was you booked that room online.. my response was actually no we called you and booked so you had put us on that room. Then the lady asked what my concern was… um hello… All of the pet hair over EVERYTHING!! Clearly the rooms aren’t cleaned.

Groomed grounds, a thoughtful layout, affable co-residents…what else could you want? The park’s dog-friendly - many residents have a pooch – there are very strict rules and doggie bag dispensers. Sandwiched between the Watson Taylors Lake and the deep blue Pacific this truly is a slice of paradise. That's what the host called it and she's pretty close.
