Cairndale Hotel & Spa

I was gifted a spa restore and retreat package which included full use of the spa facilities and 2 course lunch. The spa reception, cafe, changing area were beautifully decorated and attention to detail was noticeable. The changing area was on the small side and was glad we managed to only have another couple of people in at the same time otherwise it would be uncomfortable. The added touch of being given a hessian branded bag with your robe, towel and slippers was appreciated. All of high quality cotton. Heading down to the actual relax and spa area the spiral staircase may not be for everyone but what’s at the bottom is worth the trip. Again attention to detail of how the area is decorated, layout and facilities is amazing. There were plenty of options for heat facilities, ice bath which was a great touch and the pool with various jets. Unfortunately the hot tub was off due to maintenance issue. All staff were happy to help and very pleasant to deal with. Lunch options was great and the quality of food was high and so tasty. Highly recommend your second course being on the exceptional desserts! A downside for us was no drinking water facilities, you had to keep getting a staff member to provide you with a small glass of water each time. When you are in hot facilities where you should keep hydrated this was a bit of an inconvenience. We also felt the prices for any add on treatments was pricey. In saying all of that if you are looking for a spa day during the week is a reasonable price when including a lunch and would definitely recommend a visit.

we only visited the Spa and had afternoon tea. The Spa is modern, well maintained and very clean. The staff were brilliant and the Butler service if you wanted a glass of bubbly was something very different to other Spas. The afternoon tea was good quality with a very varied selection of teas to your liking. The only reason i haven’t given 5 stars is the lack of loungers around the pool. We did wait an hour for two to become free. There is a separate seated area available but of course we’d all like a lounger by the pool. however would definitely go back!

The spa experience was amazing! Everyone was very polite and welcoming from the moment we entered the spa. However one of the males down in the spa area was quite rude and seemed uninterested in making sure we were looked after. We would still come back but it put a dampener on what was supposed to be a good day.

Recently used the Spa facilities within this hotel. While the spa facilities were excellent , my problem is more so with the staff, while most were very welcoming and attentive one of the spa servers in particular (male, lightish hair) seemed rather distracted by his phone which he took more interest in rather than checking in on us and when we asked for a drink it seemed like we were an inconvenience to him. Disappointing when you are paying the prices you are.

A group of us (5 girlfriends) had the best of time! The staff was exceptional and Anthony in particular was the greatest of host. We felt likre nothing was too much. The spa is exceptional and definitely out there with the best ones I have experienced in Scotland!

Spa day with daughter. Treated like VIPs! Really lovely facilities, various steam rooms & saunas, pool , ice bath and hamam treatment room . Very high standard of total body massage by experienced therapist. My daughter had back and and scalp treatment and said it was excellent. Lunch two courses was lovely .Catered for gluten free well with good choices on all menus.Highly recommend. Staff lovely and helpful and professional.
