Firstly, I must say how welcoming the hosts were and how clean the property was. However...... if you have ANY type of mobility issues, or are going with young children who require a buggy/pram then this apartment will not be for you. This review has not been written with a negative outlook, but a truthful one and one that must be taken into account of if you are considering staying here. The property is accessed by 50+ stone steps and there is no lift nor no slope to push a pram or suitcase up. I went with a friend who has an issue with her shoulder and I had to carry, one at a time, two large suitcases up in the heat. Not so much of a problem for me (though it was exhausting) but it was not an easy task. There are shops, restaurants and bus stops very close by, which was great and handy at the end of a long day of walking. We walked daily into both the Old City (30-40 minute walk) and to Paradise Beach (20 minute walk). Price per trip increased the day before we came home to 2 euros 50pp. Buses are air conditioned and regular. One thing that did concern us a little was that we think that the host may have been popping in to our room whilst we were not there. I say may as I am not 100% sure. My friend was very astute in noticing that two of the cushions from the garden chairs had been taken (prior to the onset of a big storm and the balcony is only accessed from the room), and that a couple of other things had also been moved in the room. We did not mention it to the owner as we felt rather uncomfortable in doing so. If you are of a larger build, then bathroom will not be suitable for you if in room 3. It is very poorly designed and you have to sort of twist your body around to get in and out of the shower. Both my friend and I are quite small and equally found it difficult. Check out is at 10am and we were not offered a later time, but just reminded of what time we had to go. There is NO locked storage for your luggage - we had to leave ours just inside the building for the day as our flight was not until 10pm. There is nowhere to change or freshen up before your departure. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Croatia. It is a beautiful Country and the people are extremely friendly. We did not ever see any homeless people, nor beggars on the street. Croatia felt very very safe. I hope this helps xx
