Buswells Hotel

Room was good bathroom excellent. Had requested vegan option for dinner beforehand(as stated very clearly on the dinner menus). There was nothing available. Dinner...mussels arrived luke warm and cold...when brought to attention of staff nothing was done. Apple crumble arrived ice cold in the middle and took at least 15 mins to be sent back to table. At no point did we receive any explanation or apology for the poor service. We mentioned the lack of vegan option upon checkout but she just said sorry and nothing further was done. I would suggest that you don't advertise vegan options if they aren't available. Don't bother with the dinner!! Ash was a very good waiter and was very helpful but rest of staff didn't seem to have any hospitality training. Breakfast very good aesha very professional. Would return but on bed and breakfast basis.

Buswells is my home away from home. The staff at Buswells are superb; whoever hires them cares primarily about manners, pleasantness, and practical knowledge. I still miss people on the staff who were there years ago, and the new people become my friends every time we stay there. Buswells is immaculately clean; the bed and pillows are more comfortable than those I've slept on anywhere else; the tea is perfect; and the wait staff are efficient. And Paddy can always tell you how to get anywhere in Dublin by bus, Luas, or Dart. We can't wait to go back.

I've been going to Buswell's for 40 years, few times a year. I love the pub for sausage and chips with Guinness. The chips have always been old style, like an Italian chipper - brilliant. Last time there the chips were like French fries from a chain. Horrible beyond words. I'll be back and if I get this junk that will sadly be my last time going. I had eaten some of the sausages before thinking to take the photo!!

Room had great lighting and spa products in the ensuite. Lots of cushions and pillows for comfort. Decent amount of space in the room for a vintage city hotel. Breakfast was table service for the hot food and buffet for the cold food. All in all, would recommend

Very disappointing 2 night stay. Our original room had no heat and after several hours and conversations we were moved to another. Room had functioning heat but the shower was a disaster. Lots of street noise and run down look. Desk staff is curt, rude, and not helpful. We expected much better based on website and reviews.

This hotel was chosen because of the online reviews and the fact that we wanted a more authentic experience. But it left much to be desired. The front desk staff were not hospitality quality. They were rude and curt. Staffing seemed low. The room we had had a hole in the floor that was covered up by the rug. The room was not as advertised and was dingy and small. We asked for a top sheet for our bed and was presented with one that clearly had a tear in it that was glued together with a black glue. That was just unacceptable. We did speak with the manager who told us that they were having trouble keeping staff and were planning a major renovation this coming year. She was very understanding but we canceled our second night and stayed at the Camden Court Hotel. What a difference. I would caution anyone to stay there until renovations were completed. Very disappointed.
