On Check in After taking the Money for the room I was told that there was no WiFi but Outreach were working on it so whould be back on soon!! I went up to my room which was Lovely & checked my phone which showed the Payment Had gone through, yet when I tried to log into the WiFi the "Guest" & "Public" were Not available however the "Staff" one was!! So Later I called down to the bar & spoke to the young lady that checked me in & told her I had Banking & private Issues to deal with on my Laptop & could I use the Staff Password? That was NOT possible, SO I had to go into Langport to sort my issues on line!! Very Dissappointing. However it Only got Worse at 'Breakfast' I walked into Very Stripped back restaurant with NO sign of any Breakfast!! There was a linen basket end of the bar with a coat thrown over it, Swept up rubbish Left next to Open Kitchen door with broom, there was a lady in her Chefs mopping up water in a flooded kitchen, so I knocked, she was full of apologies, she was the breakfast chef However the girl that had checked me in & asked what time i wanted breakfast I told her 7:30 as I had an early start, she had NOT told the breakfast chef until after 10pm!! She had NO Customers at all so should have told chef right away??There was Nothing out in the restaurant apart from a couple of place settings on a couple of tables, No cereals, Juice, Fruit or pastries Absolutely NOTHING! Lady who was mopping was happy to cook me bacon, egg, tomato & toast, this just made me feel SO Guilty!! I did complain to the Manager & asked if I could stay on return on my way home on the Saturday for a disscount of £15 He said that would Not be possible but Insulted me Even MORE by offering me a drink & meal on him which would have been More than £15, & as I live 2 hours away don't think I could just pop in for his "Freebie" like a child ?? What a Rude Manager, did not even explain any of the Issues!!!! I have informed him I would like to make Contact with the actual Owners who live on a farm machinery farm Locally as I feel they should know How these Young people are running there Pub into the Ground, there is NO care or Pride!!! Apart from the Lady mopping up who I now know to be 'Angela' Thank you for my little breakfast & I understand Why there was Nothing set out, shame the Bar staff did not send you the Breakfast time in the afternoon!!!

Great menu at this friendly country pub. Mix of perfect pub classics (ham, egg and chips) and more gastro dishes (sea bass with baby leeks) means we had a great meal for adults and teens. Vege options looked really innovative as well. Very friendly service from manager Robin, welcoming and fun. Great choice of Somerset ciders. Lots of parking. Pretty outdoor space. But best of all … the most amazing chunky pub chips I’ve had in ages!!!

We had the warmest welcome from Angie on arrival, who was there to meet us and were just made to feel so relaxed very quickly. Breakfast was spectacular and so tasty, I literally haven't stopped thinking about it. Rooms were beautifully done and we had everything we needed in there. I loved the country pub feel of the rooms and whilst the restaurant wasn't open (was being refitted) on the day we stayed, Angie was extremely helpful in booking us a table somewhere nearby. If it had been open, we'd have loved to have remained there as it was so comfy and cosy there. Thank you so much for a wonderful and memorable stay.

Beautiful accommodation, lovely staff. Couldn't be more helpful. We weren't going to be checking in until late and the hotel called me and were so flexible and understanding. The breakfast was perfect. Would definitely recommend and hope I will stay again soon.

As experienced Brit Stop members, we thought this sounded like an 'off the beaten track' country pub making an ideal place to park our camper for the night and enjoy a wholesome meal from a varied menu. Yes, it is down a couple of lanes and we parked in a quiet & spacious car park, but wait for it...we were extremely disappointed with the minimal, uninspiring menu & the prices but we were hungry! Not being chip lovers we both chose the sausage & mash despite it being served with just marrow & gravy at £15+ per head, it had to be cooked to a special recipe, after all you can do a lot with marrow. At least it was served quickly but with no phone signal we could not take a photo. So imagine an average bowl shaped plate with two table spoons of mash in the middle with a small serving of gravy(no pieces of onion)on top and two slim sausages on top of that. The marrow which was actually two very thin slices of a large courgette(a marrow is much bigger) was placed underneath the mash, unseen and uncooked! An unadvertised service charge was added to the bill, so we paid and left, still feeling a bit hungry.

Such lovely service , great room, good grounds with plenty of parking and good food. We took our dog and they are really dog friendly . There are plenty of bins and water in the bar for the dog. The ambience and decor was just how I like it. Would love to come and stay again.
