Forest Hotel

Attended a a post funeral wake for a family member at this hotel . I parked my van in the car park . There were no clearly marked parking requirements or restrictions displayed anywhere . I went to the function room for the wake . There were no signs in the entrance stating that the registration mark of van had to be logged in the hotel .Today I received a parking fine of £100 within 28 days . Beware .

60th Birthday Party Held my husband’s surprise 60th birthday party on the 1st June. Started ringing venues at the beginning of May 2024, as it was a last minute surprise. Eventually, I found the perfect place for the party it was local for me but an added bonus for my guest. As it is just 10 minutes off the M42 motorway and opposite the train station Katie (events coordinator ) was so helpful . Nothing was too much trouble for her, irrespective of how trivial it was. (I had many queries ) Katie, provided her expertise and experience on food choices, setting /layout of the room to ensure the night was perfect for my husband. On the evening of the event , I met with Sam and his team. They were organised, professional, friendly and ensured everything was perfect on his arrival. All guests commented on the food , which was outstanding!( thank you to the chef and kitchen staff). It was a perfect evening for my husband. I would definitely recommend The Forest for any party! Thank you to everyone involved making it a night to remember for all.

This hotel seems to be trying hard to come up to a high standard, but isn’t quite there yet. The staff were lovely, smart and tried exceptionally hard to sort out the issues we had. The menu was interesting, but only delivered an average meal for quite a high price. The small room had a wonderful, large, comfy bed but some of the decor was tired. The windows looked out over a real mess, that was very off-putting, and the radiator was stuck on full, the adjustment had fallen off and was on the floor. The room was over, or next to, a loud extractor fan from the kitchen. A member of staff, Joe, was brilliant. He came to the room to fix the radiator and assured us the extractor would stop soon, and it did. We slept very well and had a peaceful night. Breakfast was right up my street, well done and thank you.

My friend and I chose this accommodation because it was close to Crufts that we visit every year. We waited a good 15 mins at the reception before being checked in. When we enquired about the times for breakfast we were told service was from 9am....far too late for us as we needed to be setting off to Crufts for 8.30am at the latest. When my response was " that's quite late for breakfast " I was told "No, not really! " Although our room was clean and comfortable it was over shadowed by what do we do regarding breakfast? When we go away the cooked breakfast is one of our treats and to say we were disappointed was an understatement . We ate in the restaurant which was pleasant enough but had to be removed from our table just as we had finished eating as it was booked by others. ( all a bit of a rush) We enquired before we retired foe the night. If it was possible to be made a sausage or bacon sandwich for us to take with us in the morning. We were told that the chef doesn't come in until 9am so they couldn't. Therefore we had to buy at inflated prices a sandwich at the NEC when in reality we had already paid for breakfast in the cost of the hotel. We most certainly won't be staying there again next year on our Crufts visit

How to alienate your customers in one easy lesson. I went to the Forest Hotel for a business dinner. Parked in the dimly lit car park, went to reception and told them I had parked and asked directions to the restaurant - no mention of parking restrictions. Then this morning I receive a £100 parking fine. I see from these reviews, I'm not alone. You are in a tough market, your financial relationship with Parking Eye is a mistake. I wont be visiting again and I'll make it my mission to spread word of my bad experience.

To be honest, everything was really really bad. The main point being that the food arrived within 5 minutes and was stone cold. At those prices, it should be classed as fraud. Sent an email and never received a reply. Plenty of pubs/restaurants that are able to provide hot food that hasn’t been on the side for an hour.

I was expecting more of this after looking online at the menu. The service felt extremely rushed and the menu quite limited. The roasts were just ‘ok’ and it just lacked atmosphere - for the price it felt extremely impersonal, almost canteen like.

Wing Wednesday was amazing, will be returning monthly for sure ! Had a few of each flavour and would of been happy with the bill at twice the price hopefully be back in area soon on another day to sample the main menu service also very good from the Aussie waitress who was almost as good as the food

First visit for a Sunday roast and it was very very good. The beef was really well cooked and the Yorkshire puddings were amazing. Would recommend getting a side of the cauliflower cheese Portion size was really good and we all left feeling very full! Will definitely be back!
