The Gateway Lodge offers first class accommodation right on the doorstep of Donegal Town. The room is spacious with a huge and very comfortable bed. Tea and coffee are provided in your room. The breakfast is top quality with varied and excellent choices. The only downside is that there could be larger towels in the ensuite. We will definitely be back here in the future

Really enjoyed our stay at the gateway lodge, room was beautiful and clean,comfy bed had a great sleep.staff all very friendly,walking distance to donegal town,great value for money,had a lovely breakfast in blas the inside restaurant. Would definitely stay here again

Clean and functional and a great location. Nice staff and excellent breakfast. Short walk to downtown with good restaurants and nice nightlife. Also a good staging hotel for travel to the rugged coast of the northwest of Ireland. Also filling out the rest of this review to meet the minimum characters but I have already said all that I need to say. Sigh.

Good location of hotel: 8-10 minutes walking distance from Donegal diamond centre where shops are located and about 1 hour car from Slieve League cliffs. Room provided was ample and quiet, and bed was confortable. Staff helpful to take care of our lugagge ahead of checkin time and to provide information on Donegal. Breakfast and Lunch were good and healthy.

We would highly recommend this hotel. Very comfortable clean rooms, beautifully decorated. The staff at this hotel and truly lovely, all very professional, helpful and pleasant. The food is well prepared with quality ingredients and very tasty, one of the best hotel breakfasts ever! We also had lunch here and a cream tea, which were really delicious and served with a smile. Really good location, we stayed here for four nights as we were in Donegal for a wedding, would definitely stay here again.

A lovely comfortable room, very clean and modern. Such a quiet location just off the main square. Stayed in courtyard room with such a massive and comfy bed. Helpful and friendly receptionist. Beautiful breakfast in morning, such a wide choice and excellent vegetarian coices too. Attentive and friendly staff. A real gem

The location, breakfast, and staff were great. The room was large and clean. The bed was comfortable. The lodge is within walking distance of downtown and conveniently located near major highways. Our room faced the street. Even with the pulldown shades, the lights illuminating their signage streamed through our windows. We also found that the smoking section out front wafted the smoke fumes into our room. Lastly, the toilet and sink had plumbing issues. We attempted to alert the staff, but no one was available at the front desk when we came looking for them. We addressed all these items with the staff when checking out. They assured us this was not standard.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lodge. Great quiet location close to everything. Nice modern and cozy rooms with comfortable beds and nice added touches. Friendly and accommodating staff in all areas and the included breakfast was the BEST we had in all 2 weeks of our trip! Generous portions and delicious French toast!
