Laico Djerba

This is our second stay at the Royal Karthago Hotel. As usual, everything was top notch. The food was delicious and always fresh. But the best were the animators, whom we already miss. Thanks to them, we have some of the best memories. We appreciate the effort they put into their performances and the fact that they were always nice and friendly to us. Greetings to the whole team: Adel (thanks for your great sense of humor), Willy, Momo, Mario, Soloma, Belashem, Mario, Baroche and the rest of the team. You are great !!! See you soon

A lovely hotel, Rooms are not 4 star, maybe 3 star. reception area has recently been refurbished and is a nice welcoming area. Rooms are somewhat dated and initially difficult to find, however ours was cleaned by a gentleman daily and it was spotless. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms the fridge had water in it nothing else. The beach is lovely and clean apart from dirty people's cigarette stubs. The entertainment guys were welcoming and not pushy. The language of this hotel is mainly French if you are expecting lots of British people this is not the hotel for you. I recommend taking enough books to last your holiday as there were no English ones. When we were there some days we struggled to find seating in the dining hall. The food was good but again don't expect chicken nuggets and chips! We did the Tunisian a la carte I wouldn't recommend this at all. The waiters were miserable. There is a shop in the hotel however the prices are ridiculous. 500 euros for a leather jacket! There is a shop opposite the hotel that is it, there was a place to book jeep safari etc but nothing else in walking distance. If you just want to relax this is the hotel for you. If you want to shop sight see then you will need to arrange trips. We just wanted to relax and we did just this. I would return again in January but not in high season.

We had a great time here. Pool and beach are fantastic and there is a lovely, relaxed vibe in the place. The rooms are lovely and special gardens make the place feel very peaceful. Special mention to the lovely woman Wiem at reception who is the best!

Welcome Receptionist was welcoming and greeted warmly. Whilst dealing with our passport / papers, he kindly offered to go to the restaurant and have dinner before it closes at 9.00pm. Tourist Tax seems to be too expensive pp 12dt pp per day. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Room: Specious, clean and standard room amenities. Bed was kind of hard, and furniture were quite old and needs refurbishment. They do not supply tea / coffee / kettle in the room to make your own hot drink. Fridge is there but empty. No tissues supplied in the room for personal use. No water provided unless you get a bottle from the restaurant. Daily room service is there ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Foods: Breakfast A good choice different breakfast items were available and staff were friendly and helpful. A good verity foods were served for both lunch & dinner continental cuisine and traditional Tunisian cuisine were served too ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spa ‍♂️ Spa facilities are there, but very expensive compare to other Mediterranean destinations around the world. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ WiFi Very poor WiFi connectivity throughout the hotel except the lobby. ⭐️⭐️ Pool & The Beach ️ Massive outdoor pool within the hotel and beach access . Friendly staff but you have to collect card for beach towel and pay €10 for pp. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Location : Very good location for beach, souks, taxi and other attractions too ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall I would rate this resort as 3⭐️ !! They need to improve on customer services, caring and provide other essential complimentary facilities inside the room like other hotels and resort do.

Me and my daughter are currently here loving life. It's a hotel that mainly the French visit, so there maybe a little and i mean little lack of understanding but it was easily sorted. We didn't have hot water to start with but that was sorted by the time we came back from dinner. Rooms are lovely. Beds are comfy and I've slept better here than at home. Pool is gorgeous. Beach has seaweed on it but the sea is lovely and warm. Animation staff are brill and want you to genuinely have a good time. Food is good. If its cool there is a microwave to warm it up. There are water fountains to fill your bottles up. Cocktails are good but strong Lots of trips to go on. We love it here. The hotel is very well kept inside and out it is immaculate. Just retirned from a 4 night stay at the Royal Karthago. Long story short, I was thankful it was only 4 days. Top tip - do check reviews on other large search engines. We'd have rethought our booking. The room was OK. Not as bright as they look in the photos, but this is to be expected. The shower was great with loads of power. But the drains were blocked so it flooded the rest of the bathroom. The bed was comfy, but the room was boiling! And aircon not on as it was March, so not summer. Also, the pillow was like a huge slab or rock Pool and beach were lovely. Though we found the animations overly loud at times. The food was dire! Tepid, repetative buffet with plenty to offer, if you're a fan of liver - the main meat 2 of the nights we were there (we're definitely not fans of liver). We had chicken 1 night - which was undercooked in the middle. Very little fruit, with just apples and oranges available. I also found it odd that you can only get bottled water at lunch and dinner. No idea what you're meant to do for the rest of the day? Take care with changing money. We were told when changing out £s that we needed to keep the reciept to change it back at the hotel. Then at check out we were told we needed to change it back at the airport. When we got to the airport we were told they couldn't change the money because the hotel hadn't stamped and signed the receipt. When we finally got it sorted, £s could only be changed into euros (this might not be a bad thing as I need a holiday to recover from my holiday). It was nice to be warm in March. But, I'd recommend staying elsewhere.
