We visited Dive Agar on Republic Day Long Weekend and had wonderful Stay @ ‘Exotica Beach Retreat’. It is indeed one of the finest in Dive Agar. 1. RESORT – It is located outskirts of Dive Agar village on Borli Panchayatan - Diveagar - Shrivardhan Rd after crossing a small bridge. One of the ends of Dive Agar beach is at walking distance from the Resort whereas the main beach having water sports are 2KM away. The resort is lush green and spread across 12 acres with a River on the backside. The landscape reminded me 2 beautiful resorts from passionate owners We visited before – ‘Riverside County’ @ Amba Ghat, and ‘Blue Ocean Resort n Spa’ @ Malgund. 2. ROOMS – There are 24+ rooms at Exotica - 4 luxurious ‘Ekaant’ Cottages (2 Pond and 2 Garden facing), ~8 Machaan type cottages, ~12 riverside cottages. Do check with them directly for availability across categories. Rooms seem to have been constructed using modular technique but are sturdy, soundproof and aesthetically done. Entire resort seems to be painted recently and was neat n clean. We had booked Pond facing Cottage and it was spacious with high ceiling, King size bed, extra mattress kept in cupboard, TV with most channels including that for Kids, mini fridge, AC, ample lights, Tea-Coffee Maker, Huge Bathroom with a Geyser, toiletries and bathtub. There is also a balcony sit out for every cottage and additional sitout areas with chairs, tables and swings. Dedicated parking spaces available closer to each cottages. The Bath towels and linen were clean although not all of them were spotless. 3. AMENITIES / ACTIVITIES – Resort offers various outdoor activities like plenty of bicycles (in good condition), badminton, Table Tennis, Carrom, a Book library and ample open space for playing. It does not have a swimming pool. There is also a wooden deck for fishing next to the river and a Goshala where one can go and feed the cows. Goshala and area around it however needs to be maintained. Resort also grows organic vegetables and can be good learning experience for the Kids. There is also a Koi Fish & Lilly pond and it was fun feeding fishes. 4. FOOD – There is Open Air restaurant which serves delicious North Indian, Chinese and local Sea food. It has unique décor where tables are made from antique wooden boxes called ‘Sandook’. There is outdoor seating as well. They do NOT have a Bar yet. Breakfast was hearty and besides regular continental spread and eggs made to Order, there was also Idli, medu wada Sambar, Upma, Pohe, Sabudana Khichadi, Sheera, Sabudana Wada, Misal Pav, batata wada pav, Mango Juice etc. over 2 days. Overall quality, taste and quantity of the food was very good. However, if you want to try some local delicacies like Fish Thali then you should walk-in to ‘Rane Bandhu Khanawal’. For homely Veg meals and Ukadiche Modak, visit Suhas Bapat’s Mess in Dive agar (pre-booking is must). Do not miss to enjoy 'Ukadiche Modak' and 'Ghavan Chutney' besides Sea food while in Dive Agar. 5. ST
