Banyan Villa Maldives Dhangethi

Great clean guest house located near the main jetty where we visited the baby reef sharks nightly. It was perfect for what our family of four needed. Through the guest house we were able to arrange a dive to snorkel with manta rays and with turtles and they even arranged for us to spend half a day on an abandoned island, which was so special. All at very reasonable prices and without being on a boat with tons of people. All the food was great with a mix of local flavours and western-type dishes, the kids finished their plates at every meal. The staff was very kind and helpful, we will miss them. This was a perfect stay that will forever stay in our hearts. Thank you for making our stay just perfect for us!

The hospitality and promptness of this villa were unmatched. I was greeted at the loading dock after a 1 hr 45 min boat ride for Male airport. On my 3 min walk to the villa, I was accompanied by the manager who provided me history and landmarks of the island all while the locals were enthusiastic about my arrival. The entrance was bright and located next to the 350 year old banyan tree. They were able to load my bags on a cart so I didn’t have to carry them. The garden and eating patio was beautiful with full flowers, clean sand, soft music and an inviting place to sit with other guests. I got settled in my room which was far better than expected. It was good quality and clean with two complimentary water bottles. The bed and pillows were very comfortable which were complimented by the AC. I had plenty of space, storage and outlets. The bathroom was lovely with good water pressure. I got the full meal package and it did not disappoint. The staff was always eager to serve us at each meal and maintained a comforting dining patio with incredible food- my favorite was the curry and tuna noodles. They learned my request and were able to provide without even asking after the first day or two! They also knew my favorite seat. I appreciated the accommodations they made for fellow vegetarians and our to-go lunch on the day I was out for an extended period of time. I felt very safe and had all of my needs met by staying at Banyan Villas.

This was our first time in the Maldives and we wanted to keep accommodation costs on a budget, so we could spend more on activities and try out new experiences. After a bit of research, we found Banyan Villa with quite convincing reviews and decided to contact them directly to make the arrangements. They replied to us quite swiftly and could consult on the most important questions before the journey, so we felt secured and informed from the beginning on. After arriving to Male airport and nearly 2 hours trip on a speed boat (which was actually quite bumpy, so be prepared), we finally came to the Dhangethi island. We were picked up on a pier by a hotel manager who organized a transfer of our luggage to the guesthouse and showed us the main parts of the island while walking to it. After a few formalities and a detailed explanation where to find what on the island we got the keys and could check in in our garden view room. It turned out to be commodious, clean and had all necessary things in it except for a safe, but the manager assured us that it's not necessary and there is a surveillance system outside of the rooms, so that was fine for us. Also later on we noticed that there is no soap provided for general hygiene purposes, but we could get an extra bottle of shower gel instead.👍 After that we had a meal in the villa, nicely prepared and pretty delicious. It tastes more like a homemade dish rather then a usual hotel-like food, but we actually appreciated it even more because of this. You can really taste local food there. In the coming days we had different types, usually fish and everything was tasty and prepared with love. A big thank you to the cook there! Btw a small tip: ask the guys to prepare you a maldivian breakfast, it's amazing. I wish we did this earlier and not only on the last days. And another tip: try out night fishing, it's not only fun to do so, but also guys will grill you the fish you catch on coconut shells, that's really something to try out. So we left our belongings in the room, picked beach towels provided to us and headed to a beach. It's good to mention that there are 2 types of beaches: touristic one also known as a bikini beach and a local one where you should be covered (i.e. it's not allowed to wear close where one could see a swimming suit underneath). The bikini beach is public for all tourists staying on the island, but it's not very occupied, there were around 15 people tops at the same time. You can find wooden sunbeds there if needed. Sand there is trully white, water is clean, warm and looks amazing, like on the pictures. The only downside is that it's pretty fleet, no more than 60 cm at the deepest point.. but that seems to be normal for Maldives. We found a deeper spot in 10 minutes walking/swimming distance in direction to the local beach far end. Aside from that, we tried out many different activities: snorkeling, diving, fishing and so on. Vom Besitzer wurden wir freundlich empfangen und am Hafen abgeholt. Auf dem Weg zur Unterkunft erzählte er uns einige Dinge über die Insel. In der Banyan Villa angekommen, bekamen wir nochmal ein kleines Inselbriefing sowie Infos zu den Essenszeiten. Wir hatten das Deluxe Doppelzimmer. Es war wie eine kleine Wohnung unten der Bereich mit Schreibtisch, kleinem gemütlichen Sofa, Schrank, TV und Kühlschrank und oben ein offenes Schlafzimmer. Es gab zwei Klimaanlagen und ein zweckmäßiges BZ. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber. Bett wurde täglich gemacht und auch die Mülleimer geleert. Die Unterkunft ist gut zentral gelegen, wodurch man schnell in jede Ecke der Insel kommt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Durch ein Tauch-Paket, was mein Partner und ich gebucht haben, war eine Vollpension inklusive. Bis auf das Frühstück wechselten die Gerichte sich tageweise ab. Es war einfache Küche, aber wirklich lecker.

La hospitalidad de hussny y la sonrisa Perenne de asrhaf. Los detalles son maravillosos y l jardín está fantástico la comida muy rica y el desayuno maldivo es muy explendido. Habitaciones grandes y muy bien equipadas. Y la amabilidad inmejorable. Fuimos a bucear y se adaptan a los horarios.

Tutto, ma veramente tutto molto positivo. Persone eccezionali, cucina ottima, escursioni top, prezzo ottimo! Albergo adatto per chi cerca l'alternativa ai costosi resort. Il punto forte sono le escursioni personalizzate con la barchetta e il personale cordiale, gentile e disponibile. Vi pensiamo spesso! Un grazie di cuore!
