I am planned to stay in this hotel for about 3 months with a distinct possibility of returning many times over the next few years, so it is important that it lives up to my expectations of a quality, comfortable hotel. I am almost at the end of my initial stay now and it has ticked most of the boxes for me. Let’s begin with the airport arrival, this was perfectly executed by their representative at the airport who was waiting for me at Immigration and took me to where the car was waiting to take me to the hotel. Reception at the hotel was excellent with friendly staff ready to help with any queries and it really was a perfect welcome. We went up to the room where I found a few maintenance issues over the next few days, but these were dealt with immediately by the housekeeping and maintenance staff. Let’s be honest, this is not a 5 star hotel but it is comfortable and perfectly suited to my purpose with clean rooms with amenities which you would expect from a hotel of this grading. The same day laundry service is perfect and always delivered timely in the evening. Food is really good and the evening meals are perfectly prepared with a wide variety of cuisines including local, Western, Chinese, and Japanese food all on offer, I have tried the former 3 and could never find fault (and, as an ex restauranteur, I am rather picky about food). Breakfast is buffet style with an egg station where you can order eggs or omelette. Whilst breakfast is adequate though I wish that someone would ensure the temperature of the Bain Maries are kept at the correct temperature (low temperatures can lead to growth of bacteria). Each day there is a good selection, including some sushi, if you like that for breakfast. If I have one quibble about the restaurant, it is that some of the staff have very loud voices and it can be a little annoying to listening to staff conversation while expecting a little peace (especially at breakfast). So is everything good about this hotel or are there somethings which don’t make the grade? Well firstly, the Internet connection is rather poor, whether it is their WiFi system or their connection with their ISP, it often drops out and watching anything on Netflix is often frustrating, I am under the impression that they have serious “bandwidth” issues, for a business orientated hotel, this in my opinion is not acceptable. A zoom or WhatsApp video call is an exercise in patience for both parties. On a very minor note, some of the towels provided, though scrupulously clean are a little on the worn out side :) Aside from the issue of internet connectivity, this hotel gets my seal of approval and especially because of the friendliness of the staff and cleanliness.
