had to go to Denton, Texas for a client. Decided to stay at this hotel since it was fairly close to my client and I am a Marriott Lifetime Platinum Rewards member. So I like accumulating points. But I would never stay at this hotel again. First the good. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I was upgraded to a two room suite. The free breakfast in the morning was pretty good with a variety of hot and cold options. Now the bad, and why I will not stay here the next time I visit with my client. First, the overall hotel looks run down. The lobby is dark and the floors and carpets look dingy. My room was the same. Not enough lighting in the room and the carpets and furniture were spotted and soiled. Not very appealing. There was no furniture in the suite except for a nightstand and a sofa. The suite was so sparse. So I had to leave my clothes in my suitcase for the three nights I was there. When I checked in, I immediately asked for another room with furniture. The check-in agent told me all the rooms were now like that. She even laughed and said that the "remodeling", as she called it, looked like it was designed by someone who never slept in a hotel room. The water pressure was very low. Water didn't trickle out of the sink or shower, but it certainly could have been more forceful. I thought of checking out and going to what looked like a brand new Hampton Inn just down the road, but I decided to stick it out. The Hampton Inn will be my go-to place when i return to Denton.
