Deloraine Hotel

I recently stayed at the Deloraine Hotel due to an incident in the Devonport CBD, which led me to find accommodation in the area. This hotel offered very affordable rates. I booked a room for one person on the same day, and although the facilities weren't the newest, they were well-maintained and clean. The shared bathroom was particularly tidy and spacious. The kitchen area was also quite nice, providing an opportunity to greet and chat with other guests. The only downside was some noise at night, possibly due to trains passing nearby. Overall, the quality and service were well worth the price.

Fabulous menu. Exceptional service from Dannii. Food was fabulous. The dining room was warm and inviting. Divine sticky date pudding. A rainy cold day brightened up by Dannii. Happy ladies out in Deloraine!!!

What a lovely space upstairs, the bathrooms are new, and there are two large communal areas as well. One is the kitchen area, has all the basics you need plus a large dining table. Also a couch and large screen tv. A large separate area as well for just relaxing. Bedroom is typical small pub room but very clean and enough room for me, and the large communal areas mean you can relax in comfort and chat to fellow travelers if you wish. Only thing is the stairs are a little steep so not easy for older people to carry up heavy bags. Though I am sure the friendly staff could help if it was a problem.

What pub gives full table service these days?This one does. The server was excellent. Sorry I didn't get the young man's name.We were greeted on arrival and were handed menus. The food came out promptly and was very tasty. Pork belly and Chicken & surf. The wines on the wine list were excellent value. We are travelling, however if in the area we will be back. Thank you

We booked two rooms at short notice at very reasonable cost. Rooms as one would expect. Comfortable, eg good bedside lighting .Plenty of bathrooms nearby. But it was the food which astounded us. Following a warm cob of bread, we had excellent pork belly and duck respectively. Way above our expectations

The outside is a really nice period hotel but the inside is a shocker especially the room 11 which had no aircon and a broken blind with the refrigerator compressor running all night for the hotel. It was stifling with the widow down and unbearable with the noise when up, the room was spartan with only two racks for cases and and broken heater, although and secondly one was lobbed beside it, we needed a cooler anyway. Toilet down the hall and so is the shower, no handbasin to top it off. The outside emergency or place to bring your language up was downright dangerous.

Great service and food. We visited the area for a week and we had lunch and a dinner with friends here. Service was prompt, attentive and the meals were tasty and good proportions. Not a great selection of wines but some local wines. The whole town is friendly and welcoming.

I took my wife up there last night for her birthday dinner. Great old pub with loads of atmosphere, great barmaid and waitress, and pretty good pork belly dinner. Sadly there were 2 couples around the 30-ish mark at a nearby table in the dining room, and one of them (with short beard, cap and sunnies on head) had a loud, foul mouth. Other patrons were visibly offended, but no-one said anything for fear of reprisals. His companions and the waitress ignored him, even after some patrons asked to be relocated to the next room. We ate and departed as quick as we could, and escaped to the gaming room. Unfortunately "foul mouth" and a few of his younger mates joined us there and continued their performance, including loud, guttural belching. We finished up and left, vowing never to return to this venue! Where was the publican?

Really good spot to stay - did a fair bit of internet before the trip and it kept popping as the place to stay - and it is!!!. The staff well organised and checked us in without fuss (3 people travelling and each had a room). The hotel has a mix of rooms with ensuite and shared type facilities - we all stayed in the ensuite type rooms. All rooms clean with excellent bathrooms etc. The rooms we stayed in all had gas type heating - great if its cold!!! All the rooms are upstairs with no lift - staff offered to take the bags etc. up. Parking is onsite out the back Hotel has a basic breakfast room with free cereal, toast, tea & coffee etc. Definitely stay again if I was in the area.
