Residence Inn Decatur Emory Area

My husband and I, along with our two children are currently staying at this hotel. Upon arrival, as we always do, we requested 4 extra pillows because my husband has a bad back (disabled veteran) and sleeps upright. When the kids went to pull the sofa bed out to get ready for bed, we discovered there were no linens or pillows for the pullout sofa. I called the front desk and we were instructed we had to come downstairs to the front desk ourselves to get them. My husband went to retrieve them (poor customer service) and then we find out there are NO EXTRA PILLOWS in the ENTIRE hotel. Apparently, the 4 pillows my husband received earlier was a HUGE problem since the girl at the front desk argued with me about relentlessly (even hanging up). It seems there is a pillow limit per room even though we didn't have the ones that should have been in here for the sofa bed. Then she says there are only 4 empty rooms in the hotel (which is a lie... the hotel is a ghost town) and that she doesn't have access nor authorization to go in those unoccupied rooms and that they need to save the pillows in case someone books (it's after 11pm at this point). WORST MARRIOTT experience EVER! We just stayed at one in Charlotte last weekend and they had no problem supplying the needed pillows for my husband. SIDENOTE: We were informed by the front desk staff that this is NOT actually a Marriott owned property and that this hotel is privately owned. So "BUYER BEWARE"!!! You absolutely DO NOT get the same quality of service that you would expect from Marriott.

The staff was very nice, all of them. People (guests were as well). We were close to CVS, so it was convenient to get we needed, at anytime. The breakfast was great as well. The staff came to your room and delivered what ever you cal the front for. They didn’t take all day to deliver items. The only two they could improve on is. One there is NO pool at this location. This would have completed a wonderful stay. Second issue is when I got ready to take a shower, there was hair everywhere. All on the show walls, on the shower floor, on the toilet, and in the towels. Of course that was disgusting. I mean every nook and cranny of the shower. In between the complementary body essentials bottles , that are mounted on the shower walls. So, that’s the experience I had.

We could not have ask for anything better. The hotel was wonderful and the service was great. We checked I July 02 2023 and stayed until August 12 2023. My husband was being treated for cancer at Emory. The staff was out of this world. James was amazing making my husband feel so good. Willie& MS Q sure made you feel welcome at breakfast. Dwayne and Myfuza were always there to help. I sure did not get all the name at the desk or the maintenance. Also Bobby was a great help. What can I say there was not a complaint one. The area has so many restaurants and anything you would need. Thanks for taken such great care of us. We do miss our morning hugs. Thanks Debra

We stayed at this excellent brand new hotel last week (3/30/2022). It was clean, everything sparkling new, our rooms were super clean and kitchenettes perfect! The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Great place to stay for college tours and visits. We’d definitely stay there again!
