Parts of this modern-looking hotel are apparently very old, but this is not obvious until you walk on the very creaky floorboards and joists. Internally the decor is tasteful and quite stately-home, and it is certainly roomy. Our bedroom was large and had a great seaview, a beautifully redecorated bathroom andxwas very comfortable. There is a heated indoir pool and many other leisure facilities. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful, the breakfasts fresh, filling and delicious, and our hotel evening meal likewise. The hotel is very close to the southwest coastal path and scenic trainline. We used our trip to visit The House of Marbles and Buckfast Abbey, but not the fabulous beach. Too cold in January!

The recent review by John and Jenny Taylor sums up perfectly how we experienced the Langstone Cliff Hotel. My wife was celebrating a 'landmark birthday' & the reception staff arranged exactly how I ordered, a suprise room welcome of champagne, flowers and local chocolates. The staff were brilliant and despite being extremely busy were only too keen to help with a smile and is a tribute to them, their training and the longevity of the hotel. We had an upgraded room with a beautiful sea view. The hotel does have an indoor swimming pool, an excellent snooker and darts room and a table tennis room. You can relax in a wide range of comfortable seats and sofas and be waited on too. The food was excellent and I personally was looked after in the dining room because of my health issues which made our stay more enjoyable. We will return as soon as possible. Visited for an afternoon tea which was okay but spoiled by weak tea and no refill.I have been for many other teas which tea was unlimited.No sign of any waitress to report my concern. Hence,my average comment. Now I am reluctant to try the main menu.

Our 11th stay here - and we're returning again in July! The staff are so friendly and helpful, the rooms very comfortable and spotless - as is the whole hotel. The buffet breakfast is excellent with lots of choice, as is the dinner menu. The hotel is in a quiet wooded area, but easy walking distance to the beach, We travel by train and the hotel is an easy walk from the station. Can't wait to retutn !

It was lovely to be back at the Langstone Cliff. The hotel continues to be excellent in all areas, the cleanliness, staff, staff, food all add up to the perfect relaxing break. Unfortunately, the weather was disappointing but gave us time to enjoy some well priced drinks in the lounges! We look forward to our next visit.

Lovely hotel with excellent staff. Comfortable big lounges and verandah overlooking the gardens and sea. Food was excellent with good choices on the menu it was difficult to choose as everything was so good. Gluten free options available. We stayed in ground floor room with balcony overlooking the grounds. Friendly helpful staff in all areas of the hotel

The staff were great, rooms very clean and the food excellent. The pillows were very hard, and the heating through the facility was variable. Pool was warm, and almost every time we were the only swimmers. Overall, an excellent visit. We will be back next year.

Just returned home after Christmas take 2 at this wonderful hotel, unfortunately Christmas take 1 was taken from us by one of the many storms Which took out the power while we were there. The family and staff all did everything they could to make sure we had some thing to eat, that day and set out a buffet type meal. A few days later we received a lovely email apologising, and inviting us to return at our convenience for a meal and a drink on them, or refund, obviously we returned As usual a lovely welcome nothing too much trouble, and we had lovely meal, in lovely surroundings with staff that were very happy to help Thank you for always putting your customers first and making things right when they are totally out of your control

Lovely large family room,spacious. Very good choice at breakfast. Staff lovely and friendly, also helpful. Hotel was very clean and beautifully done out Unfortunately only stayed the one night as we were that way for a wedding. How to go back

Very nice & well kept hotel. Extremely clean & the staff were very welcoming. Food including the delicious breakfast was to a high standard. Good location overlooking the sea with plenty of parking. Would recommend staying at this hotel to family & friends.

We returned to The wonderful Langstone Cliff hotel for the 13th year on our annual dance event and as always it did not disappoint. Over 100 dancers filling the whole hotel all 64 rooms and every person left really happy. So much so the event sold out for 2026 before we ended our 4 night stay. Louise, Sarah, Charlotte in fact every member of the team are amazing and work with us all to ensure the smooth running of the events they host, it really is a special place. Superb rooms. Great food, stunning ballroom and wonderful staff what else could you ask, they take away the worry of complaints because they just get it right and work with you to deliver the best events possible. Yes 100% visit the hotel and it's lovely location you will not regret it.

This is always a super hotel that I go to every year in February, for a line dancing week. Every year the hotel is booked out with us! dancers. This is my 14th year, so that must say something :-) Over the years the hotel has improved its areas bit by bit, which is always appreciated by us guests. However, there is one area that Im not completely happy with. The sheets on the bed are flat sheets, and they never seem to be big enough to tuck in. Hence they move in the night, together with the protective sheet underneath. Fitted sheets would be far more comfortable. Ive had my own Guest House business for a number of years and never used flat sheets for this very reason. I put up with the slight inconvenience at the Langstone Cliff purely because the rest of the week is so good.

You kindly upgraded us to a larger room (room38). The room was very large and the beds and bedding very comfortable but a couple of tweaks would make the room a super room rather than a nice room - (1) the floor boards throughout the bedroom were extremely squeaky making it impossible to walk anywhere without floorboards making noise, (2) a plug in night light near the en-suite would have made walking to and from the toilet during the night safer (I didn’t want to put on a brighter light and wake my husband). Buffet breakfast was very good, staff were friendly and professional and The hotel was warm and lounges very comfortable. On Saturday evening (1st Feb) we booked an evening meal at the hotel to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We have been told by friends who have visited them Langstone in the past that that the evening meals are very good. On arrival at the dining room we were seated in the Orchid Room with three other tables occupied by 7 other people. The room was extremely cold and I asked that air conditioning be switched off after confirming with people sitting at a neighbouring table that they were also cold which they were. I’m sorry to say that the meals that we received were not at the high standard that we were expecting and at best could be described as mediocre. In particular my husband’s turkey curry looked like it had come out of a tin and the raspberry pavlova that I chose for desert looked like it had been stored in the freezer for too long. I am sorry to end this review on such a negative and appreciate that we should have complained at the time but didn’t.

Went with line dance group. Had excellent stay very nice rooms lovely food Great to have an indoor pool.staff very helpful nothing to much trouble. Ballroom excellent for our dancing group. Plenty of Free parking with stay. Had a really good time.
