My experience at Sumitel Queen’s Yard, Darjeeling — a branch of Sumi Yashshree Hotels — was extremely disappointing and far below expectations. What was promised as a premium stay turned out to be a frustrating ordeal. The food was a major letdown — tasteless, cold, and clearly not freshly prepared. Even basic dishes were poorly made, and the service was painfully slow. The staff were unprofessional and indifferent to guests’ concerns. Requests were either ignored or met with rude responses, and there was zero sense of hospitality. The rooms were in poor condition. Linens were stained, the bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned, and several amenities listed during booking were either broken or simply not provided. The management seemed unwilling to take accountability or offer solutions. What was most disappointing was the hotel’s failure to honor their commitments. We were promised early check-in and certain room features — none of which were fulfilled. When questioned, the staff shrugged it off without any explanation or apology. This hotel does not reflect the warmth or standard one would expect in Darjeeling. Poor food, poor service, broken promises — I strongly advise future travelers to avoid this place. Definitely not worth the price or the headache
