Taj Chia Kutir Resort & Spa Darjeeling

We had a lovely and peaceful stay at Taj Chia Kutir and found the staff warm and courteous. The resort has charm and character, while remaining homely and welcoming. The only drawback I could point out us that the food options lack variety. However, the restaurant was charming, with prompt service.

We had a Family wedding in Jan 2025 and we had the most amazing and memorable experience! Special thanks to all the amazing people at the Hotel who went out of their way to take care of us and comfort us. Special mention and Gratitude to Head Chef Mr. Tilak for taking care of all the requirements and serving us with so much positive energy and Mr. Saushit the F&B head, Abhijeet and Anshuman and all others at the restraunt. We also had wonderful mornings at the Yoga deck and Ms. Manisha the yoga instructor was very helpful. Overall it was a great experience and I recommend everyone to visit this place.

Warm welcome, comfortable stay, good food and experienced work force. Enjoyed many in-house and outdoor activities. Tea testing session (forgot name of Mr blender very knowledgeable person) he explained everything about tea very well. Morning yoga sessions, mantra chanting by monks, daily tambola with jingles by MR.APIL and MR PRAJU during evening high-tea. We won in tambola and got makaibari green tea as a memory. Tea garden trail with APIL AND PRAJU’s songs was also a unique experience. Both are very prompt at their work with smiley face.kids enjoyed temperature controlled pool. We also visited tea factory.The chef MR SOUMYA PRASAD is also very much concerned about guest’s requirements.on last day of our stay we went to sonar gaon fine dine to have dinner and specially to taste special cuisines of NE and BENGAL. but all tables were reserved. We were returning with little bit disappointment. By chance on stairs the chef Mr Soumya prasad met us and he asked about our dinner. I told him the story. He took action and had a conversation with manager at restaurant. Then both of them said sir tables are fully reserved but you order with sonar gaon menu we will serve the same at verandah the another restaurant. We ordered and enjoyed the food served by Mr ROHAN DARJEE. Rohan served well with smiley face and explained many things about the NE and Bengal cuisines.The chef and Rohan so nice.The only disappointment was from our room side. We were given room on 4th floor in 2nd block which is almost last corner of the property.we booked valley view. But our room was not actually valley view. There were many bushes and trees in front of our balcony and because of the corner room was not proper valley view. We asked to change our room in same category but at better view point. We were told that we have rooms of same category in 1st block also but totally sold so we can’t give you today. We will change the same on 2nd day of your stay. Next day they also denied. Basically they didn’t tried. On check out also they don’t have knowledge about your package. 20% discount was applied in every bill of F&B and spa as per package but 2000 daily hotel credit was not applied initially but when I asked for the same they applied this. I think this should have been done suo moto.even after check out there are some memories for guests. A lady member came to us at car landing area to see off and also asked us about stay and comfort and finally said good bye with a gift pack of makaibari green tea. Overall experience was wow.
