Zinovia

A family of 2 parents, a super active toddler and two grandparents felt very welcomed at Zinovia apartments. We rented two studio apartments and enjoyed a 7 days stay. The apartments is located near the best child-friendly beach around Chania and it is only a 5-min walk to it. The beach has shallow waters, only small waves, shade from the sun because of the trees near it. The accommodation has a large yard in which our daughter was running and spreading her toys or playing with the very friendly cats. And the hosts are the embodiment of Greek hospitality: they offer a lot of suggestions of places to visits, restaurants to eat, things to do and can also tell you a lot about the Cretan history. Plus, they keep the apartments very clean (towels are changed, floor is moped/cleaned and garbage is taken out daily), which gives an enormous feeling of safety for a mother. The cleanliness extends also to the kitchen, which has well kept and good quality pans & pots, all you need for small meals to be cooked for a child. And the sandwich-maker saved the day so often. To be honest, I’d go also next year, it is just so easy here with an active toddler.

We lived in the Zinovia for 2 weeks and it felt so comfortable cause it was exactly what we wanted. The Zinovia is located in a residential area. The Mix between Hotels and Greeks living in their own properties is what we liked. Despite the surrounded lively Nightlife it was really quiet at night in the zone of the Zinovia apartments. The Studio was really nice. The Kirchen has everything you need for self catering. There is of course air conditioner, TV and WiFi. Changing of towels regularly. The terrace was pretty big with beautiful garden furniture. The estate is surrounded by a lot of greenery, trees and big plant everywhere what makes it feel so comfortable and quiet romantic. The sea is just a 3 minute walk away. But what made it really special to us were the hosts, Stella, Kostas, Haris and Zinovia. This family is the main reason for the harmonous Atmosphere. You can not describe what they do to make each and everyone feel comfortable, and happy. There are always on your side when you need them with grace and self evidence.Any question they have the answer. For them nothing is impossible just everything is possible. Sure we will see them again. Zinovia, for us the Place to be.

Great family hosts- a lovely clean apartment and a great garden view, just one street away from the beach. (Sunset beach, which is a lovely sandy beach with great swimming). We particularly loved the large balcony with a view of trees, plants and flowers from the studio. For us, it really felt like a home from home at Zinovia. I would say I felt more immediately comfortable at Zinovia than anywhere I have travelled to before due to the kindness of the owners/hosts.

One of the best places I have stay in my life. The owners are very kind and friendly. They offer an airport pick-up when staying 2 weeks or more and I also was lucky enough to taste some greek local dishes thanks to their amazing hospitality. The flat itself was great. Comfy quiet bedroom, kitchen for all needs, terrace with chairs etc. The area has amazing several beaches within few minutes of walking, restaurants and supermarkets. Can recommend this place to anyone and I hope to come back again soon🙂

Spent two weeks at Zinovia, all the family enjoyed staying there, looking forward to visiting some time soon in the future. Clean, close to three beaches, and plenty of restaurants to choose from at a walking distance.

I have just returned from a two month visit to Crete during which I travelled all over the island and stayed in many beautiful places. In terms of accommodation and welcome, the Zinovia Apartments, during all of that time, was by far the best. From the moment that I arrived I knew this was something different. Kostas and his son Haris met me at the bus station in Chania and took me to meet their family, Kosta’s wife, Stella, their daughter Zinovia, and Kostas senior and his wife Zinovia. From day one and for the entire ten days that I stayed there it really felt that I was staying in someone’s family home, rather than in a hotel. And that’s because that’s exactly how they want their guests to feel. Having said that, there’s no obligation to be part of the family. You have a beautiful apartment that’s all yours, and at an amazingly reasonable price, with everything within that you could need. But they are there if you need them and showed exceptional kindness to every guest, often inviting you to join them for a coffee, and even one evening with all the other guests for a delicious home cooked meal with them in their beautiful garden. My stay with them was the best and, having visited Crete many times over many years, I can honestly say that the family are exceptional. If you want to experience real, Cretan hospitality, this is the only place you need to go!
