Short story: we stayed at Kyriaki's for 5 days and it was a really pleasant stay. If you don't miss the buzz of the city center and don't need a lot of shops around, but some nice tavernas and a beach within reach, this may be a good choice for you. Long story: we checked in 2 hours late due to a late flight but the staff was there, near the pool, ready to welcome us, we had a reservation via booking and we payed upfront by card (with a promise to pay the extra €7.5 tax later with cash). We were given room 105, situated at floor level, deep in the exquisite and lush garden of the property. The staff was nice, they showed us to our room, explained how everything works and wished us a pleasant stay. The room was clean, with quite a big balcony (a table with an ashtray and two chairs) and a pretty view of the garden - palm trees, poplars and a fig tree near by. It had AC and a TV, two beds put together to form a quite spacious one, with very comfortable mattresses. Enough room for luggage. The bathroom was clean and had minimal toiletries (we mostly brought our own anyway). Nice cleaning services (our room was cleaned everyday while we were away, even though we left the "Do not disturb" sign when we left the room one day, and some other time when we were late sleeping we hung the sign again, and still someone entered the room, said "Sorry" and then briskly left and closed the door). We didn't get to use their pool (which was a back-up plan in case of bad weather) but we've been told that it's 2.7 m deep and one of the staff must be supervising when the pool is used by clients. Wi-fi is available, but the signal is pretty bad, we kind of had to use our data plan most of the time. You won't find the password in the room, you will find it at the reception. We found a sticker on the mirror in our room which stated "no food, no drinks", which made sense as they had a bar/restaurant near the pool and no fridge in the room, which we did find a bit odd (I think we never stayed in a place where we didn't have a mini fridge at least). A safe is provided in the closet, if you have valuables that need secured storage. As a location, is pretty close to a 24/7 supermarket (not your usual Synka or Sklavenitis, but had pretty much everything one needs). We chose it especially for the near-by beach Yannis (which is our favorite), situated at ~1.5 km (10-15 minutes of walking through a really beautiful and quiet neighborhood). We probably would have chosen a closer hotel if we found one, but Kyriaki checked enough boxes for us. A bus station is really close to Kyriaki, where one can hop in Bus 21 which takes you to city center and close to the Chania Bus Station. Tickets can be bought from the 24/7 supermarket (aforementioned). Enough tavernas, bars and restaurants near the beach. PROs: clean, with a pool as backup for bad weather or rough sea. Magnificent garden. Friendly staff. Good placement, close to bus station, close-ish to Lidl and Synka, close to non-stop
