My rating needs to be taken in context. The hotel is nicely decorated and quite clean. The exercise room was well equipped and maintained, and it looked like the pool was well maintained. So, why the low rating. Yes, it's close to Dallas' second airport, but the quoted price was quite high. When I checked the group rate I got a price at the high end of a mid-range hotel, not unreasonable for the area. Of course, I don't object at all to hotels marketing themselves as moderately upscale, but when I stay at one, I have a few basic expectations. - There was one guy at checkin, and with a group arriving there was a line. Not sure what the correct approach is for the clerk in this situation, but he definitely seemed to drag out each checkin. - The room was clean and decorated nicely. The bed was reasonable. - However, it took (not joking) 10+ minutes to coax moderately hot water from the shower. The shower was configured such that you had to stand partially under the spray, no matter how the head was positioned to turn it on. - The power unit at the desk was not working. - The coffeemaker in the room was the cheapest possible 1 cup Mr. Coffee and the provided coffee was pretty low quality. The coffee in the lobby was available in a very narrow range of hours. - Breakfast was like a reduced version of what you get for free now at most mid-range hotels, but with $8 for a 50 cent bowl of oatmeal. - The blackout shades on the windows are very effective at blocking light, but arranged such that to let any light in at all, you have to expose the lower half of the room to public view. - As a humorous note, the required "the most we will charge for this room" insert on the door was set to $999/night, ie - we will charge as much as we possibly can. I've only stayed at an Aloft one other time, and after this experience, my impression is consistent. Seems like someone in a corporate office said "hey, what if we could build a midrange hotel and charge premium prices for everything". Even without the maintenance issues, just not my cup of tea. With the issues, the rating falls.

Terrible experience. Room was not cleaned. Called front desk, no help except saying cleaning staff has gone. Did bring me clean towels, but no water bottle and tea bags. Credit card had an unexpected, unexplained, not on the bill charge. Called multiple times, no one answers.

I prepaid for the room through a third party site but the hotel charged me an additional TWO times for the room. I've been trying to get them to refund these charges for a month now; they've told me they'd refund it without following through, and I've left messages for accounting but they never call me back. This is the second time an Aloft hotel has charged me for a room I had already paid for but last time they actually refunded it instead of giving me the run-around. I will never stay at another Aloft hotel and would absolutely not recommend anyone else stay there either.

We booked last minute since our flight was cancelled. We called the hotel to pick us up from Love Field and they were there within 10 minutes. They did provide us with a bottle of water upon arrival, which was fantastic because it was 105 degrees out! The room (415) was pretty but so many other things could not make up for it. First, the water in the shower was either really hot or really cold. Second, the rooms aren’t very soundproof. We could hear people in the hallway and we could hear loud cars driving all night. If you are traveling with others, expect to be woken up from the light in the bathroom; it lit up the entire room. The shower wall is frosted glass that is shared with the bedroom. They do offer free shuttles to the airport every 30 minutes starting at 4am.

Upon arriving at 12:30 AM, after checking in via the app, the front desk agent informed me that my room needed to be moved. This was confusing since I was unaware a room had been pre-assigned. **Room Switch Without Notice:** To my surprise, the agent canceled my prepaid reservation at the Aloft and booked me at the Element without informing me. The room features didn't match what I had booked, nor did it align with my previous stay. Additionally, I found an unexplained $33 charge on my folio. **Frequent Traveler's Perspective:** As a frequent traveler with over 100 nights a year at Marriott properties, this bait-and-switch tactic was unacceptable. Different brands cater to different travelers, and I chose Aloft for a reason. The room at the Element, primarily a long-term stay hotel, was subpar with issues like inconsistent water temperature in the shower. **Management Response:** I asked my Marriott personal ambassador to address the unprofessional behavior. When contacted, the hotel management saw no issue with transferring guests between properties. This response highlighted their lack of understanding and justification for their actions. Regarding the $33 charge, management vaguely attributed it to two Life Waters consumed. I reminded him of the sign promoting free filtered tap water which I would have happily skipped if I had water bottles available. Simply put, the $33 charge is a bogus plug to make up for the difference in rate between the room I booked and the room I as deceived into (lower rate) and this way they don’t refund the traveler. **Conclusion:** Proceed cautiously with this hotel, as you may not get what you booked. The staff and management's disregard for proper procedure and guest satisfaction indicate a deeper issue. Creating bogus charges and delivering a product subpar to what one paid for is downright fraudulent.

I needed a last minute hotel room and it was after midnight so my reservation would not go through for the correct date. Somehow Marc and Candace got in there and processed my reservation with ease. I didn't give details but they saved me some heart ache because I lost the key to my airbnb behind the hotel and it was a total nightmare before I came in that morning. I just needed rest honestly and i was able to get plenty. The hotel was very quiet although it was storming outside.

The front desk staff of this property - commendable. However, there may be a glaring management flaw. I am very aware that I left an item in my room a few weeks back. This is my fault totally. I am aware of where I left it too. I have called and spoken to numerous staff members at the property in an effort to retrieve my item(s). Each time, I was transferred to a VM or a message was taken at the front desk. It's been three weeks people - not one email, text or phone call. I am a lifetime, premium member of the hotel's loyalty and perks program. At his juncture, I can say, based on my experience that this particular property does not meet the standard. Even if they did not find the item, a response is a basic expectation of courtesy. This property is not up to it. It may not matter, because regardless, they do good business retail-wise with corporate and convention guests; general consumer guests, take note. I remain a devout business and leisure guest of the 'hotel group', but I am not happy about the way that an unmet effort has been handled.
