Ni De Zhongwen Hen Bucuo!

Manager/owner was pleasant and accommodating who ensured we had enough toiletries, water, etc during our stay. We booked a smaller room but were given a free upgrade to a second floor room with a decent view, and received a small discount as it seemed they had very few guests, but given the constant rain, and off-tourist season that's understandable. The room was very clean save a few marks here and there on the mat, seats etc. The bed was soft and comfortable. The towels were not those cheap single use ones found in many budget hotels but the towels here were thick, soft, and clean. The hot water for the shower was fine, and didnt take long to heat up. The room had good natural light due to the large windows. The location wasn't far from the base of Cang Shan mountain/cable car, about 30 minutes walk away, and also about 20 minute walk to old Dali City (ie the main attraction in Dali City). The place was very quiet as well, so we slept like babies. There was a washing maching and clothes line up on the roof, but it was a little dangerous as you could fall off if not careful (definitely don't let the kids up there). Shops, restaurants, and hire bikes were all within walking distance. The next block across from the homestay had more options including street food.
All up, there is nothing I can say that didn't make us want to stay at this Homestay. We had a pleasant stay and I recommend this place if you don't want the hustle and bustle of the old city and prefer a quieter, near-nature getaway. If it wasn't for the constant rain in Dali which led to us leaving, we probably would have stayed at this comfortable homestay for a few more nights.
