Staying at Sound of the Cloud Hotel in Dali was an unforgettable experience. The hotel blends modern minimalism with traditional Bai architectural elements, creating a serene and elegant atmosphere. Located just a short drive from Dali Old Town and surrounded by stunning views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, it’s the perfect retreat for nature lovers and travelers seeking peace. Pros: - Unique Design: Stylish and calming interiors with thoughtful touches inspired by Bai culture. - Exceptional Service: The staff was attentive, warm, and always ready to help with itinerary suggestions. - Comfortable Rooms: Spacious and clean rooms with modern amenities and large windows for natural light. Cons: - Limited Dining Options: The on-site restaurant serves great food but has a small menu, so you might need to venture out for variety. - Transportation: The hotel is slightly isolated, and while it’s great for tranquility, getting around might require a taxi or rental car. You even need a shutter service from front door hotel to your room - Crowded with outside tourists make the location pretty noisy and it might affect your travel mood - Location is far away from Dali ancient town. Not recomended for those who looking for ‘Halal’ food - Breakfast only limited to Chinese menu but the design outlook is more to western style. Management should consider putting that option as well

The facilities were excellent, and the breakfast was scrumptious. The staff were very friendly and provided great service, including transportation up and down the hill. The hotel was incredibly Instagrammable and looked just like Santorini.

Butler Xiao Dong 小东 is very polite, caring, helpful and attentive, even though at late night he is 24 hour at your service. 😊 very nice of him waited till late night we returned to room n wanted to send mooncake to us cos is the actual day of mid autumn festival. He is concern if we eaten any mooncake on actual day which is very important to Chinese ☺️. When we checked out, he is off but he make effort to arrange everything nicely. Thank you!

Very nice staff especially Xiao Dong and the team facilities for a 4 years old property well kept everything is nice we will definitely visit again strongly recommend

The butler's service of 小勇 is good. We feel good and enjoy at the scenery and the service provided. will come back again

What can I say. Stunning!!! Amazing hotel in a beautiful location. The staff were incredible. The only downside was thee lack of a Western style breakfast which, sadly, seems to be the norm in China, and where it is offered, it’s usually half hearted, with the Chinese idea of what a western breakfast is. Apart from that, I highly recommend this place. It’s beautiful. PS. It’s a Chinese photo spot for wedding photographers so be aware that all the beautiful tourists spots are inundated with pretty girls taking photos or having photos taken.

Good service, every time we text them on WeChat they respond so quickly and picked us up and down from the entrance to doorstep via buggy ride. We troubled them quite a little but they always responded with smiles and were patient with us. I highly recommend this place for people who visit Dali !

5 stars location as you can take many photos within the premises. 5 stars customer services 5 stars view the moment you open your bedroom door!

Was like going to Santorini, but with too many local Chinese, noisy and disruptive during visitation hours. Staff was excellent and helpful, especially our room butler “Xiao Jun” who made our stay very comfortable. Plenty of pictures but we came back late and there is no restaurants open unless you travel outside which is a hassle. We had to order delivery, but too tired to wonder outside anyways.

Overall it was an awesome stay especially the photo taking session. A breathtaking view of Erhai. It's however a regret to say that the water of the swimming pool was simply too cold for us to dip in. For otherwise it would have been a perfect stay.

Excellent property and very convenient for activities. Front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful. Property is clean and has a fantastic Santorini vibes .The views and the rooms where super clean and beautiful.My butler was super helpful and friendly .Thank you so much .l will definitely come back .
