They came for the good weather , the mountains and clouds which surround Old Dali, and the views of the remarkable Erhai Lake which extends for miles. They also came for the camaraderie of old and new friends and the interaction with people of diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds. The other draw was the lively and colorful Bai culture in nearby villages including Xi Zhou and Shuang Lang.
