My review won’t be about the conditions of this place because I faced… not a good situation? during the chat with this accommodation before visiting Dalat. Just a short preview. I am a Russian by nationality and we, along with some other countries, have a right to come to Vietnam without visa if we intend to travel for less than 15 days. This is official information and some other countries have this quota as well. Before it, I have a couple of questions to this place because I needed to know some info about the city, about luggage storage and coming earlier than check-in time. It was suspicious for me at that stage because I didn’t get a clear answer even about the weather, but okay. Then I received a message that I must have a visa because Dalat police is so strict that you must have a visa, otherwise you won’t be checked in. This news was so confusing for me because you can google about visa requirements and find the information. I asked why is it so because I know that I will enter the country without visa, as I plan to stay less than 15 days. Then I attached the website’s links about the country’s list about which go under visa exemption. I received a reply that “that’s my opinion” (I know you read reviews, so I’d like to ask on public: all the nationals who come under visa exemption are illegal migrants here? Why did you connect official regulations to my personal opinion) and “they want to make money”. I know my review is just a minority and I do really hope that your hostel is nice but I also worked in this sphere and know that sometimes for some reasons you have to reject guests if they don’t meet some inner requirements. However, it’s inappropriate to be rude to the guests. Moreover, I asked another hostel in Dalat about “strict policy” and they said that visa exemption countries can live there without any worries. So, if you travel here under visa exemption and think of staying there, you will be rejected, just keep it in mind. My negative rating is connected with rude replies rather than with the situation because, as I mentioned, I worked in this sphere and personally had to reject guests to check in for “strange reasons” for them but it was an accommodation’s policy.
