Evolution Dive and Beach Resort

My wife and I did our rescue diver course at Evolution, and stuck around to do a few days of diving with sharks and exploring nearby islands and local dive sites. We absolutely loved our time diving with Evolution and the passion for what they do is very clear. From the management to captain, from the reception to the waiting staff, everyone was positive, professional, and welcoming. They are clear about expectations underwater, for the safety of the environment and the divers. Everyone had a very very clear passion for marine life and the local ecosystem. I loved how flexible they were at Evolution - allowing us to change dives depending on how we were feeling, and not charging us a deposit when I was was sick, instead just allowing us to change the dates of our dives as we wished. I've been sick on a diving holiday before and had to miss dives and have still been charged, so to be able to just pick new days was amazing. For our rescue diver course, our instructor Kleng (shout out to the legend!) made our practical skills fun and kept it light-hearted, giving us roles as the victims and challenges to test our fellow rescuers skills. He was super friendly throughout and did a thorough review with during surface intervals and at the end of the day. Kleng also helped me do my EFR refresher course, even after he had spent a whole day diving.Our other dive guides, Albert and Harvey, were friendly, professional, and made us feel safe in the water. I was happily surprised by the value for money of the local dives, which includes Kimud Shoal, where you'll find the thresher sharks. This and their flexibility allowed me to decide on our last day to do the shark dive again! An oatmeal and banana breakfast was included between dives at Kimud Shoal, and a big lunch (with gluten free/vegan/vegetarian options) is also included when doing a day trip to the outer islands. We didn't stay at Evolution so can't speak for the rooms, but the restaurant was amazing and, again, had gluten free options for my wife. The happy hour deals on the cocktails aren't bad either! If we were to go back to Malapascua, be it to see the threshers again or to do a divemaster internship, we would head straight back to Evolution, no questions asked!

My sister and I did our Advanced scuba qualification here and had a brilliant time. Gino, our instructor, was very patient and helpful to us. The dive master trainees were also great helps, and the boat crews were very kind. Would definitely recommend for any dive experience!

We had five days diving with Evolution. The early morning thresher shark dive is absolutely impressive and insane. I also like all the dive sites apart from thresher shark. I dove with Albert, Elgen, Vicent, Harvey, all of them did really great jobs. Overall the dive center is no doubt professional, I would like to come back again for further technical diving courses as well. It’s a bit shame we booked too late so we couldn’t stay in their resort, otherwise will be more convenient for diving.

Very well run beach front resort with friendly and efficient staff. Spacious rooms with effective and quiet a/c, powerful ceiling fan, comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. Restaurant serves tasty, good quality food, quickly, even when busy. Excellent owner operated dive operation offering comprehensive training for every level of experience. I completed the advanced trimix class with Matt Reed who proved to be an excellent instructor and educator. Highly recommended.

I spent 4 days diving with Evolution- 2 days completing my AOW and Nitrox with Gino, followed by the trip to Gato Island and Kimud and Monad Shoals, both with divemaster Josh. Evolution had been recommended highly on a group for divers, so I decided to dive with them on my trip to Malapascua. Right from first contact with them, the team was so incredibly helpful and quick with responses to any of my messages or questions. The equipment I rented was in very good condition. Instructor Gino was incredibly patient with me during dives, taught me so much and gave really helpful feedback- I am now a much better diver thanks to his help. He was also great at pointing out interesting things on all dives I did with him. He took video of me on the Thresher Shark dive which was great as well. I also really enjoyed my first ever night dive. Divemaster Josh was also very patient and helpful on the Gato Island trip and my second adventure out to see the sharks. We were blessed to spend 25mins in the presence of a Tiger Shark at Monad Shoal. Everyone was incredibly stoked when we got back on the boat. The vibes were high even though it was raining and the sea quite rough. All staff in reception and on the boat were very helpful. I really felt well taken care of at all times- very grateful! Food at The Craic House at Evolution is wonderful, as was food that was prepared on the boat and given out during surface intervals- especially lunch at Gato Island. Many people had dietary requirements and they were very well taken care of too. All in all, I can't recommend Evolution Malapascua more highly. Book this place for your dive trip in Malapascua- you won't regret it! And to any of the Evolution staff if you read this- thank you for everything. I had the most incredible time and it means more to me than you'll ever know

Loved the hospitality and enthusiasm of the staff and dive crew, especially their eye for details such as remembering our names, allocating labelled gear baskets for each of us and supporting us every step of our dive trip! The drinks and food were delicious and large portions, and the bed and pillow blanket was so comfortable. Special shout out to dive instructors Vince and Elgin for looking out for me underwater all the time. Thank you Evo!
