My stay was on 11/2/24 - 11/3/24 and it was horrible at Hotel Texas. I have reported this business to all government agencies within the state of Texas and Federal. We experienced price gouging, and our room has life threatening hazards. The daytime manager on Sunday 11/3 at checkout was harassing us to leave at 10AM due to the Fall time change. The night manager the night before actually advised us 11:30AM is our check out. This business false advertised free pool and breakfast accommodations. We were told by the nighttime manager that pool is available at Noon, but our checkout was 11:30 AM. The morning of 11/3/24, we called the front desk several hours before checking out asking what time the complimentary breakfast starts. He yelled once again and said, "no free breakfast here" and hung up abruptly. At 10 AM he sent a Hispanic housekeeping lady over to get us out. The housekeeper wanted to cry and said how mean and evil he was to her and the guests. My family told the housekeeper to quit and work across the street at the Holiday Inn which we will stay the next time we visit Cuero, which is often. My room# 141 has wires exposed and mold on the ceilings. The rooms are dark with only one desk lamp. The exposed wires in the ceilings were either from a missing smoke detector or a ceiling light. We were supposed to be charged $55 plus tax. We were charged $84.75, and the extra cost was service fees is what the front desk male advised. I will get a refund by law enforcement. The Hotel knows my phone number because that is all they wanted to book the room. No signed contracts or receipt given at check in. There are many hotels nearby so please DO NOT STAY here.
