The Wheatsheaf Inn, Cuckfield, near Haywards Heath This small country inn has a number rooms. Twin rooms are mostly on the ground floor, and queen rooms upstairs in the mansard area. The rooms are very small, with flat screen TV, a small desk area, wardrobe and tea and coffee making facilities. A good English breakfast is offered. Most of the rooms face the street that can be rather noisy at times, although the windows are soundproofed. As there is no air conditioning, this can be an issue on hot summer days (rarely an issue in Britain, admittedly). Some of the ground floor rooms can also suffer from noise from above – this is an old building and the wooden floors can be quite creaky, and the sounds of conversation (and much else) from above can be clearly heard. During our stay the room was not serviced. Overall, a nice and atmospheric accommodation option, despite some of the negatives.
