Premier Inn Stafford North (Hurricane)

Stayed just for one night on 03/04/25 with my wife and daughter. Location- Just off a busy road and close to M6. The town centre I would say is around 2 miles away. Room- the room was clean and had everything you could need. Room probably could do with some updating, not as nice as some of the other premier inns I have stayed in previously. We asked for a cot which was included but this was not made up and had no mattress. The cot was also too small for my daughter who is 22 months. We asked at the reception but there was no other cot size we were told. The other premier inns we have stayed in do have bigger cot sizes so could not understand this. Luckily, we had our own travel cot with us so had to use this instead. We were allocated room 214 which was looking at the back of the hotel, looking onto the busy road. I wouldn’t say we had a relaxing sleep as the road is loud and there are plenty of sirens going past through the night. Sadly, probably wouldn’t stay again.

Travelled down from Edinburgh to stay for 2 nights as we were visiting Alton Towers. Pleasant stay and location was ideal for our needs. Paula was a star when it came to breakfast. Very attentive and friendly and even had a little present for the kids as it was Easter.

I regularly stay at this hotel when travelling back to Wiltshire from visiting my elderly Mother in Lancashire (it's about half way to home). The hotel is great, I have no problem with the (usual) Premier Inn high standards of their rooms, and the staff are all really helpful. The problem with this visit was that (just like I did last year - when will I learn?) it was on the same weekend as the Stafford Bike Show. This meant the room prices were far more expensive than normal - I actually have no issues with that, Premier Inn are a business, and are profiting from the local bike event, it's how business works! The thing that spoiled the visit for me was that the tiny breakfast room was heaving with bodies (Tom the restaurant manager was superb in finding a table for us when we were earlier than anticipated). It was definitely NOT a relaxed breakfast! The problem stems from the original design of this unit - such a small breakfast room for such a large hotel - WHY? If and when I go up next year I must remember not to book in here, I must find another PI away from Stafford...

Clean and very friendly staff especially Paula in the breakfast room and the gentleman cleaning the rooms. The beds are comfortable, no air-conditioning but have fans. There is plenty of parking. The rooms are nice and spacious and very clean.

We stayed at Stafford North for two nights as we had a two-day ticket for Alton Towers Theme park. We checked in on Monday 21st and ate in the Shire Horse pub attached to the Premier Inn. My daughter was violently sick and ill all day the following day and spent the whole day in the room. It turned out to be food poisoning. We complained to the manager that we had to cancel our plans(already pre-paid) and were told that it wasn't food poisoning because they have never had a food poisoning case previously. On viewing the reviews for the Shire Horse we discovered many complaints about food poisoning previously. We are out-of-pocket, with a very(thankfully fully recovered), sad daughter. We will never stay in another Premier Inn if you cannot gurantee that your guests will not be poisoned by the food offering.

As advertised the room was clean and tidy, ready on time. The bed was very comfortable and all the staff very friendly. Especially Paula and Emily, the best breakfast crew I’ve met on dry land! Their cheeriness would do any cruise ship proud ( thanks for the fresh fried eggs Paula)
