IH Hotels Courmayeur Mont Blanc

We were thrilled to have stayed at IH Hotel Courmayeur in February half term. We couldnt have wished for a better accomodation for our family of 2 adults and 2 children. The staff are wonderful andcheck in is seamless. The family rooms are enormous for a ski resort hotel, and we loved the loft type duplex room, with stairs leading to a second floor, which had two single beds for our kids. The actual space could have two more single beds comfortably, it is seriously large and spacious. The king size bed in the main section of the room was very comfortable and bathroom spacious and clean. We loved the view from our room of the beautiful snow capped mountains, and the room was very well heated for the cold weather outside. There is also a very convenient large car park situation on the opposite of the hotel. Breakfast was perfect with lots of hot food, great coffee, all the pastries and cakes one would ddesire, and an excellent selection of fruits as well as cheeses, and various other treats. The hotel also has a great games/chill out room, a great bar that serves various meals throughout the day, and the hotel serves dinner in the evening, although we did not have dinner here during our week stay. The location of the hotel is really a highlight of this hotel. A 10 minute stroll will get you to the Dollone Lift as well as the 4810 ski shop where we hired our ski's and left them in the basement of the shop at the end of the ski day. Really convenient. As well, in the evening a stroll into town for most restaurants is a 5-7 minute walk, and the main Via Roma walk is also around 5-7 minutes walk from the hotel. So convenient we didnt use the car all week. Please be aware there is a path to make sure that you are not walking on the main walk, which goes behind the hotel and is safe and also very pleasant to walk into town. ask reception the way. We really appreciated the hotel providing us with daily free hot chocolate upon our return from a days skiing around 4.30 pm. We are eagerly waiting for the hotel to open up bookable dates for 2026, as we cannot wait to get back Thank you IH Hotels for a perfect accomodation experience on our ski holiday in Courmayeur.

This hotel is clean, but our room is very loud because it faces a busy highway despite the hotel itself being in a quiet little ski town. I explicitly asked the frontdesk staff for a room facing away from the highway. They ignored my request with no explanation.

My recent family vacation stay at the IH Hotel in Courmayeur was, regrettably, a disappointing experience. Despite its purported four-star rating, the establishment falls significantly short, aligning more closely with a two-star facility in terms of quality and service. Firstly, the hotel's infrastructure appears to be trapped in a bygone era, with no evident modernization since the 1990s. This extends from the rooms to the common areas, all of which lack contemporary comforts and amenities. The rooms, in particular, are in dire need of an update; the bathrooms feel antiquated with doors that won't properly close, the floors are marred by scratches, and the technology is virtually non-existent. The beds and wardrobes are basic and uncomfortable, contributing to an overall lack of hospitality. The staff's demeanor, especially at the reception, was unwelcoming, often bordering on rudeness. A particularly unpleasant encounter involved Giovanni, the shuttle driver, who exhibited unacceptable behavior by shouting in front of children, simply because I chose to open my own door. Such incidents cast a shadow over the entire stay, making it far from the relaxing family retreat we had hoped for. The hotel's location, adjacent to a main road, subjects guests to constant noise, reminiscent of being trackside at a Formula 1 race. This, coupled with a central heating system that is only operational for a few hours each day, made for an uncomfortable and chilly environment. On a slightly more positive note, the restaurant staff were a welcome exception, demonstrating courtesy and professionalism. However, the food served was basic and lacked flavor, failing to meet the expectations set by the hotel's purported star rating. In summary, my experience at the IH Hotel Courmayeur was far from satisfactory. The dated facilities, poor customer service, and lackluster dining options make it a place I cannot recommend. Those seeking a pleasant and comfortable stay in Courmayeur should consider alternative accommodations.

Short dads and kids ski trip. Hotel basic but ok although heating a bit sporadic. The main huge issue is the Spa. Two small pools and a steam room and sauna which would be great after a day on the slopes but it was not included …..I have stayed at hundreds of hotels over the years and although I would not expect a spa treatment to be included , I would certainly not expect a €20 charge per person per day (including kids) to use a pretty mediocre pool. Very tacky….

Reception staff were amazing, room was great value for money. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful, occasionally not enough bowls for cereals but usually sorted. Hotel was close enough to walk to town plenty of good restraunts, although may need to remortgage to eat in some of them. Ski room was great, heated boot holders, plenty of space, could do with another bench in there though. Slopes were ok, poor freeze thaw conditions all week, but better in the mornings. Not much beginner area here but thats the resort not the hotel. Skyway to Mont Blanc was booked by the reception staff, a great experience, all of them went above and beyond. Free shuttle to slopes lift, limited running times and whatever you do dont do the doors yourself, my daughter was told off. Driver needs to smile and be more friendly, if so he would have received a better tip. If you get the chance go on the snowmobile ride to the mountain restraunt, food was ok, ride was excellent. We booked Mattia as our instructor through Maison Sport, he booked the snowcat for us, amazing instructor really enjoyed my week. Spa is €20 per person per visit, we went once, a little pricey should be included or maybe €5 each a day, maybe get more visitors that way. Would recommend for families who are happy to ski all day and chill at night.

Distraught on check in: I arrived today and I won’t go into detail yet but was met by the most difficult manager and I did not experience the Hotel Group philosophy at all! I hope that we can resolve the issue tomorrow but I am trying to make contact with the CEO or a member of the leadership team as there has clearly been a technical glitch on booking!!! Be careful if you book on line direct with the hotel!!!!!!
