Our Cozy Cottage is a close 20- 25-minute drive to downtown Saratoga Springs and Saratoga Racecourse, and a short drive North to Lake George Village, shopping at the Lake George Outlets and the Great Escape Theme Park. Want to stay close in the Summer, and enjoy the biggest county fair NY has to offer...The Washington County Fair is in August. Mornings can be spent relaxing on the newly remodeled front porch with a cup of coffee from our coffee station. Afternoons can be spent taking a leisurely walk around the property, hiking, playing outdoor games, reading on the deck in the Spring, Summer, and Fall, or cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. The Battenkill River is a great place to swim and do some river tubing. Did you bring your kayak or canoe? Cossayuna Lake is within just a 1/4 of a mile drive where you can freely launch into the lake and enjoy picturesque views of the surrounding area. Carter's Pond Wildlife Management Area is within a 1.5-mile drive; with fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and hiking. Maybe take a scenic drive to Vermont to shop and leaf peep in the Fall. In the summer you can enjoy a relaxing day on the peaceful pond in the pedal boat, canoe or on one of the Stand-Up Paddleboards. There are also attachable seats which make the SUPs feel like open kayaks. Spend an evening around the campfire eating S’mores, telling ghost stories and making memories. In the fall the foliage is gorgeous, and local views abound! We are close to several ski centers, such as West Mountain Ski Center, Gore Mountain, and Hickory Ski Center. In the winter there is skiing, snowmobile trails nearby and cross country skiing and ice fishing on the pond to name a few, or just curl up in front of the fireplace with a good book.The soothing atmosphere of the deck is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or while gathered around with family and friends relaxing and taking in the beautiful views. This is a clean one bedroom, 1 bath efficiency. It is located approximately 100 feet away from the main house, but still very private. It has everything you would need inside for light cooking. It also includes a keurig (we leave two k-cups). We do provide clean towels and linens as well. We have chickens on the property, so we provide a dozen fresh eggs, which we leave in the refrigerator. This property is very secluded on a quiet well-kept dirt road. Great place to get away for a little R&R. The place will sleep 4 guests, but it is best fit for 2.
