You can walk downtown, however there is a slight stretch without a sidewalk. It is only a five-minute drive to Acadia sites like Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, Seawall Beach, Somes Sound, and Echo Lake.Bar Harbor is a 20-30 minute drive, depending on traffic.The Island Explorer features eight bus routes linking Southwest Harbor with destinations in Acadia National Park and neighboring village centers.
