Swim, kayak, or just enjoy your view on this quiet 61 acre “No Wake” lake. Spend the day floating or kayaking down the beautiful Pigeon River and end up at your own home away from home! Enjoy mother nature with sightings of eagles, osprey, deer, otters, turkeys, beavers and more!If Fishing is your thing, Pigeon River is stocked with trout each spring. Small mouth, largemouth, walleye, northern pike, channel catfish, crappies, bluegills and others are all possibilities!After an enjoyable day on the water you can take a short drive to an area restaurant to grab a bite to eat. There are several within 5-10 minutes in all directions. Or choose to cook in our fully equipped kitchen or even make yourself some smash burgers on the provided Blackstone Griddle. Afterwards, relax on the spacious lakeside deck or enjoy a campfire around the fire pit…..the S’more the better!!For a rainy day or if the water isn’t your thing, Shipshewana is just 15 minutes away (a tourist town full of Amish heritage, shopping, restaurants, flea market, and concerts) South Bend and the University of Notre Dame are just 50 minutes to the West and Kalamazoo is just 50 minutes to the North.The Space:This 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The kitchen is fully stocked with basic cooking utensils, salt and pepper and Olive Oil and has a large island with additional bar seating. The dining room table boasts a stunning view of the lake! The living Room has a big comfy couch to relax as you take in a movie night on our 65 in TV and also pulls out into a large twin/double bed. Enjoy free WIFI with our high speed internet and log in to one of your favorite streaming services. We also have an antenna that picks up local stations.You'll want to spend as much time on the spacious deck as possible! Bring your fishing pole & fish from two docks, grill your dinner on our Blackstone Griddle & eat outside while you take in the view, then roast s'mores over the fire as you take in the evening sounds of life at the lake.We supply a limited amount of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags and laundry detergent. We encourage bringing or purchasing additional supplies if you anticipate needing more.We have 4 kayaks available for use! You are welcome to bring your own boat to dock at our pier. Please remember that Pigeon Lake is a no wake lake with a 5 mph speed limit. Docks and kayaks will be available Memorial weekend through September (please check to see if they are out yet if you want them sooner)Parking is available for 2 cars only. 2 car limit STRICTLY enforced.The Neighborhood:Our cottage is located in a quiet lakeside neighborhood! We love our neighbors soplease be respectful & observe quiet time after 10PM. Please also be respectful and stay in our yard. There is a fence on both sides.Other Things to Note:We have 4 kayaks and several adult life jackets. If you have children, please bring an appropriate life jacket for them.You are also welcome to bring your own boat or kayaks or paddle boards. We are located a few houses down from the public access.Swimming is available off the dock. Lakes are often unpredictable so please take safety precautions & have children wear life jackets.Interaction with Guests:We are always available by phone when needed!We love when our guests are celebrating a special occasion! After 10pm our neighbors should not hear you. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO PARTY and come and go all hours of the night, we are not a good fit for you. Rowdiness, excessive noise, loud music, etc. are all grounds for removal. Our neighbors are all families who have children. Nestled deep in the quiet country setting of Howe, Indiana, it’s the perfect place to come if you’re looking to disconnect from the daily grind or spend some time with friends and family swimming, fishing or just relaxing. Kickback in our sunroom with amazing waterfront views from every angle or lounge and unwind while watching the large flat screen TV in the living room. Internet is provided. The house is comfortably furnished and comes with an window a/c unit in the main living area and ceiling fans throughout the home to keep you cool in the warm months. With queen beds in each room and a sleeper sofa, the space sleeps up to 6 people. The kitchen comes fully loaded with basic kitchenware, dishes & silverware, a standard refrigerator & stove, as well as a microwave and coffee maker. Dine indoors at the kitchen table or al fresco on the porch. Enjoy brunch or grill up dinner overlooking the beautiful lake. The property also comes with 2 paddle boards included in the rental fee so you can cruise along the lake, or just relax on the shore and take in the incredible technicolored sunsets.The Twin Lakes in Howe Indiana are considered to be some of the cleanest lakes in the entire state. This is a spring-fed, non-sport, private lake with no speed boats or jet-skis. While our lakeside cottage is remote, it’s only about 10 minutes from the 80-90 toll road. Shopping is conveniently located 15 minutes north in Sturgis, Michigan where you'll find a Walmart, Meijer, Walgreens, CVS, Dollar General and many restaurants. Interested in exploring the area a bit? We are only 15 minutes away from Shipshewana Indiana, where you can get to know some of our Amish neighbors. Check out the Shipshewana flea market, enjoy some authentic homestyle Amish cooking, an afternoon carriage ride, or a show at the Blue Gate Theatre. We are also only an hour from Kalamazoo Michigan, Fort Wayne, Indiana and South Bend, Indiana.
