The beach is half sand and half reef which makes for lots of great surfing, bodyboarding, and snorkeling. In addition to the many tropical fish you are likely to spot sea turtles, dolphins and during the winter months whales playing in the waters just off shore. If you feel like exploring there are many beautiful sandy beaches nearby as well as numerous golf courses. Waianae Marina just 10 minutes away offers fishing, snorkeling and dolphin expeditions as well as seasonal whale watching. An island jewel on the North Shore of Oahu, this cottage is situated right on the water in a quiet, serene, and peaceful setting. Surrounded by palms and gentle trade winds, the cottage is located in a gated, old-style Hawaiian setting, offering all of the amenities you’ve come to expect plus more, including a tennis court, pickleball court, basketball hoop, and an outdoor pool. Our cottage also includes a washer and dryer (soap provided) and an outdoor shower. There is 1 free parking spot available that is reserved for you when you book. Maximum occupancy for this unit is 4 people. This is a rule from the HOA and they are extremely strict and will turn you away if there are more than 4 guests. Numerous activities await you just minutes away, including surfing, snorkeling, horseback riding, polo, beach strolling, pickleball, tennis, basketball, swimming pool and hiking, among others. And for those more adventurous souls, there's even sky diving available within minutes. But remember to be safe and always check with lifeguards before entering the ocean, as there are large waves and strong currents during the October-to-May North Shore surf season. When in doubt, don't go out!The cottage is surrounded by majestic mountains to the south, and unobstructed, 180 degree views of the ocean to the north, where you can often see Humpback whales breaching in the distance. And world famous Ka'ena Point, with its resident colony of endangered Hawaiian Monk seals and migratory birds, is only a short distance away. This Beautiful one bedroom loft is located between pipeline beach and sunset beach at the famous surf spot 'Rocky Point'. We are just 4 houses from the the beach. The North shore bike path is just steps away. There are multiple gourmet food trucks that park all along the bike path. One of our favorites is the elephant truck (thai food) and our kids favorite is the brick oven pizza truck Impossibles Pizza which is across the street from us in the evenings. Turtle bay resort is just a 10 min drive up the road and is a fun place to dine, watch the sunset over the ocean at the pool bar while listening to live music, or partying after dark at the famous surfer bar.Rocky Point Studio sleeps 3 to 4 people and is ideal for a couple or small family. There is a full size bed upstairs in the sleeping loft. A queen size bed in the small downstairs bedroom, and a full size futon in the living area. The open beam ceilings make this one bedroom studio feel open and airy, lots of windows to let in the trade winds and sunlight. Surrounded by palms, plumeria, and avo trees, and with a view of all the surrounding Rocky Point neighborhood, you get the feeling of being in your own island tree house. :) You also have your own private deck for BBQing and relaxing after a long Hawaiian day.This is a separate unit from the main house on the property. I live in the main house with our three boys and we are always happy to answer any questions you may have about surf spots, beaches, restaurants.. etc.. :)The property is very safe, and is enclosed by a fence and gate.
