Being 1 minute off legendary Cabot Trail- there are lots of activities for kids, and families and couples alike can enjoy a wonderful beach getaway. You can walk out the front door & across the field straight onto the beach. Directly in front of the cottage is a stone beach- very peaceful, private and perfect for campfires. Approximately 400 meters down the beach however, it changes to a beautiful sandy beach that is child safe and has a family-friendly atmosphere- perfect for swimming and sandcastles. We are also just minutes away from the heritage rich Acadian village of Cheticamp where the family can learn a little bit about Acadian culture and each great food at some local restaurants. Owner Description: Jyl and I live in Margaree Valley on my family's homestead property. We have 9 children, from 27 right down to 2. I drive a school bus and own a small well drilling company, Jyl is a physiotherapist.Why the Owner Chose Cheticamp: It started as a beach house for the family, we all enjoy the ocean . The location was perfect because it was only 1/2 hour from our home in Margaree and close to Jyl's work.The Unique Benefits of this Cottage: Our cottage is located on a strip of land on the beach, with magnificent sunsets and island views toward the front and Cheticamp harbour, full of birds and plants with a mountain back drop to the rear. During your stay you will have access to all three floors of our cottage with the exception of a part of the basement (the room with the yellow sheet is hung at the entrance along with the shelves at the bottom of the stairs that have some important maintenance items). There are some personal items that we ask to be left alone for now there, along with our motorboat, as it is in need of some repair-work from previous extreme weather events we had last year. Everything else is free to use as you please. We want you and your family to feel completely at home during your stay with us. Our cottage consists of three levels and boasts a total of five bedrooms and 2 bathrooms:The lower level there is a bunk-room that has two bunkbeds which can sleep 4 children. The main floor there is a master bedroom with a king-sized bed, that can accommodate 2 adults. Finally, Upstairs we have a total of 3 bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has a twin/double sized bed which can easily accommodate an adult or child, and the other two bedrooms have queen sized beds, which can accommodate 2 persons each. The Upstairs Master Bedroom boasts a stunning and breathtaking view of the lake. Your rental will include WiFi, a beautiful HD Smart TV to watch Netflix on - which is included, a fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen for your convenience. In the basement, we have a laundry room. You are more then welcome to use our washer and dryer without fee’s attached. All we ask is that you do not change any settings on our TV without permission. There is a guest WiFi account for you to connect your devices on, and a guest Netflix account/TV account for you to use for your convenience. We will include this information with any bookings prior to arrival.Please Note - As with most, if not all, lake-front cottages there are insects that will be flying around occasionally. Most notably at night, especially if light-sources are attracting them. We suggest bringing your own insect repellent to help combat these little buggers. 

Please also keep in mind that Cell Phone services are extremely limited at our location. We highly suggest enabling wifi calling on your cell phone prior to arrival. Please note - You'll be provided a code for entry prior to your arrival upon completion of your booking.
