H10 Tindaya

We had a lovely welcome to the hotel by reception, we were given lots of paperwork to read about the hotel, and had some water and chocolates on the table when we arrived in to our rooms. We found our room, and they were spacious and up to date. Although there was no kettle in the standard double rooms, and even after requesting one, it didn’t arrive. Air con worked well. Room cleaned regularly. The safe is €20 to use, which is ridiculous that you have to pay to protect your stuff from their staff. The food was poor, often stone cold, limited choices, very repetitive, and no children’s options. Lots of long ques to get to the food stations such as the pancakes, or omelets or pasta or fish/meat stations. Often you were waiting on food to be refilled, or for plates or glasses so you can get a drink or some food because they have ran out of clean ones, there is a lack of staff and nothing is topped up very quickly at all. You even had to que to get into the restaurant, often there was plenty of tables available but they were full of dirty plates, as there just was not enough staff to cope. I would often walk past the que and go and move the dirty plates on to another table, then go behind the waiters station, get clean cutlery so we could sit down and eat, rather than wait 40+ minutes with a 5 year old getting bored and miserable in the queue. There were two front of house staff at the entrance of the dinning room, who just stood and watched the waiters clearing tables, no one seems to help others, to get the jobs done, it’s not their job, and they certainly do not help. They just stand and watch! The snack bar was vile, and the chef even worse, cold hard pizza was served every day, amongst other things and nothing replaced until it was gone regardless of the condition of the food. They would run out of clean plates, or cutlery, and no one was in a rush to top them up. I plated some food up at the snack bar one day, by the time someone had brought more cutlery out, my food was absolutely stone cold and inedible, so I threw the whole lot away and started again. Bins were often over flowing, dirty plates piled up. It seemed there just was not enough staff, and it wasn’t the problem of other staff to help. There was a lovely little coffee shop, that’s only open during the day, it doesn’t hold any pool safe cups, so you have to go down to the pool, to get some plastic cups to be able to get the drinks to take them around the pool. The coffee shop isn’t near the pool. The pool area was also dirty, we didn’t want to put our bare feet on the floor next to our sun lounger so often remained in our flip flops. The bins over flowed. It was the life guards that collected cups from around the pool. Doing multiple jobs. The pools are salt water. The pool bar pool is the warmest, but the kids were not allowed any toys or inflatables in there, and the life guard was so strict and rude. Stayed with my wife for our retirement celebration . Hotel is great and bedrooms kept very clean and comfortable. We were all inclusive and good selection of food and drinks. However, some guests were unfriendly and rude. pushing past and leaning across food trays in front of us without excusing themselves or apologising. I believe they were German!! Notwithstanding all the staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful i.e. cleaners, reception, security, bar and restaurant. I was unwell with a medical condition and especially want to thank Rosana (guest services) and Helena (reception) for their kind understanding and helpfulness which was greatly appreciated. Overall, a great hotel with lovely staff and highly recommended for a break.

Fantastic location in Costa Calma with beautiful views and great winter sun. Unfortunately, the hotel itself failed me and my girlfriend miserably. I booked 11 nights all inclusive at H10 Tindaya for peace, tranquility and to recharge, as it was supposed to be a peaceful hotel resort. Unannounced noisy construction work started next to the upper outside pool and pool bar within a few days of our holiday commencing and continued for over a week. The works were still ongoing when we went home. Tiles were being removed and replaced over an ever growing area, which were apparently emergency works. I had paid a lot of money for an upgraded room with a sea view and I was given a room overlooking the construction works. The noise made it impossible to enjoy time in our room or on our balcony during the day. It was also unpleasant to be outside next to the pools or in the pool bar. We were forced to spend time away from the hotel resort during the day meaning we lost some benefit of all inclusive. The hotel moved us to a new room after we complained to our tour operator, which was apparently a privilege room without the privilege services. It was actually a smaller room than we already had, but it did have a better view - partly because you couldn't see the construction work from there - and it had the bath our original room was actually supposed to have. The hotel management acted like they had done us a favour and were not willing to compensate us in any way for the disturbance already suffered.  We could still hear the construction works from the new room and our room was next to a staff service lift which was noisy early in the morning and quite late in the evening. Construction works went on at various times sometimes starting before 10am and they sometimes didn't finish until late afternoon. The noise ruined our planned peaceful holiday, but the hotel management have taken no responsibility. To top it off, this apparent 4 star hotel serves mainly only mediocre, repetitive continental food in the buffet restaurant. Often the food wasn't even hot enough and many times I struggled to find anything I wanted to eat. Even the cocktails were unauthentic and just full of excessive alcohol measures. Several staff members were charged with making cocktails, but did not know the recipes without checking first. For every 6 nights stay you get a meal in the Route 66 restaurant, which is supposed to be a la carte. I booked my girlfriend and I in for Valentine's Day and was absolutely shocked by the poor quality of the food, which came from the same kitchen as the buffet restaurant and appeared to be the same food. The only difference seemed to be the table service provided. My girlfriend and I both ordered the ribs and they were burnt to a cinder, barely edible. I suffered diarrhoea and vomiting for a day whilst at the hotel. Don't dare mention food poisoning to the management regardless of what you believe the cause to be unless you have been tested by a D
