We’ve stayed at this hotel before without issue. However, here are the issues we encountered in this trip: Lobby and hallways obviously have an HVAC issue, as it was warm and humid with various mobile dehumidifiers around trying to cool and dehumidify the air. It was at least 76 degrees in the hallways. Our room- the mattress sheets and quilts seemed small and were not conducive to a good night’s sleep. They kept pulling up as if they were shrunk. The bathroom seems outdated and in need of an upgrade, but even worse- there was hair from a previous guest all over the conditioner and shampoo bottles in the bathtub, there was a leftover soap bar left on the tub, and there was an unwashed towel that had hair from a previous guest as well. We did not see this until the morning, as we checked in and did not make use of the bathroom until later in our stay. Had we observed this after check in, we would have asked to be moved to a different room. We did not let the staff know of our issues because there was no remedy for it after the fact. We had to check out at 715am to be somewhere for a girl’s softball tournament. As I was leaving the hotel and trying to grab a coffee to go in the lobby, the worker was adding cream to the station. She seemed unbothered by me waiting on her and even seemed to move at a snail’s pace in putting creamers at the coffee station. Lastly, there were workers who were smoking at the front door as people were exiting. I believe that workers should be prohibited from smoking on premises, but at the very least should not be doing it at the front door. The facade for the pass thru at check in is damaged and needs repaired. The food at breakfast was adequate, although the area was small. The pillows in the room were fine, and the mattress was fine. Having the fridge was convenient. The TV was comically tiny for the room. Lastly- I was not greeted as a Bonvoy Gold Member. Those of you who are loyal to hotel rewards programs know that this is a huge customer service no-no. All in all, this was a very disappointing stay for us. I used points and this was a reward night, so it’s tough to complain. However, there is a Hampton Inn in this town that is much newer and cleaner than this Fairfield. I’ve stayed at the Hampton, but wanted to use my points for the reward at Fairfield. It was a rewards night with a fair amount of points for the hotel and the location, so it was seemingly a good fit. But I won’t stay at this hotel again- the Hampton is a better hotel, and there are other options at that exit: Holiday Inn Express, for example. We know a lot of people who stop for the night in Cordele, either passing through or for softball tournaments. I don’t think I can recommend this hotel for anyone after this experience. That’s a shame, because I am a loyal Bonvoy customer and always look for Bonvoy hotels first above anything else. FYI- I let Bonvoy know about all of this- pretty much word for word- in an email on Saturday
