It was a disappointing stay. After 24 hours, a bad smell emanated from the bathroom and tarnished the entire room. It was worst in the shower, and I think it was related to the drain below the grate. I reported it in the morning on my way out to meetings. We agreed it would be addressed during the day, and I could switch rooms upon my return if the smell persists. It persisted. I was moved to a ground-floor room overlooking a corner with streetlight pollution, even with the shades drawn. Given the inconvenience of changing rooms during a two-night stay, I would have preferred a better location, even an upgrade. But since I was leaving the next day and I had already moved my luggage, I did not push the issue. Both rooms were consistently too warm, even when zeroing the radiators. I had to open the windows, which was less than ideal in the ground-level room (admittedly, the widows are ~9 ft above the sidewalk). But, I still listened to conversations I didn't want to. The hotel and the brand work hard to be environmentally friendly. The shower in the 2nd room recycled 90% of the water used. Therefore, the gas fire burning in the sun porch at 7 AM on a Thursday is hypocritical. Either the hotel is environmentally friendly, or it's not. Don't pick and choose what's green and what's not.
