After reading wonderful reviews of this place and hearing good things from friends who biked there, we were excited to stay. I had booked through their website in November 2023 and got a message from Paolo that they would be ready for us on June 1. I then sent him five more emails in the past couple of weeks confirming our stay, confirming my earlier request for dinner when we arrived, and asking if there was anything else we needed to know/do. I never received a reply to any of my emails, which worried me a bit, but as it was supposedly a professional agroturismo and Paolo had said in November that we were all set, we headed there after a wonderful week in Solanto.Unfortunately Paolo had kept no record of my request, had apparently not read my subsequent emails, and was grumpy and ungracious about our presence. He refused to provide dinner and told us we could go to a pizza joint four kilometers away if we wanted food. No apology, no attempt to make us feel welcome. His lovely wife was sweet and tried to make up for his behavior but he remained unfriendly throughout. The pool was not open so there was basically nothing to do - we decided to stay one night instead of two, since the experience was so uncomfortable. Breakfast was another disappointment - a two-egg omelet we were expected to share, one biscuit each and some sliced bread, and various store-bought items. We were very glad to leave! I hope that others have a better experience. Paolo’s wife was very sweet and the place itself is in a lovely setting. I don’t like to be so negative but this was a very uncomfortable experience and very different from the warm welcome we received at every airb&b we stayed in.
