Excellent base from which to explore the local and more distant areas. We had the garden room this time with a massive en suite bathroom The hosts Amanda and Kevin were brilliant as ever with their local information and provided a lovely daily breakfast.

This a hidden oasis, the perfect place to calm the mind, body and soul. The B&B is very comfortable, our room was light and airy and the rest of the house is beautiful. Kevin and Amanda are super hosts, really welcoming and very knowledgeable. Confolens is a great town, lots of history and stunning scenery

We have just come back from a fantastic stay at this excellent b&b. Kevin and Amanda are so warm and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay after a long journey. The room was well equipped with a large bathroom, comfy bed and we had excellent views from the large windows. We highly recommend a stay here!

We’ve just had the most relaxing over night stay at 13Bees, what a real shame we couldn’t have stayed longer. The setting is magical, just overlooking the river, beautiful house with gorgeous terrace, lovely bedrooms, yummy breakfast. Easy walking distance from eatery’s & shops. We couldn’t have been made more welcome by Amanda & Kev they’re super hosts.Be sure to buy some of their honey, they’re the experts on it! Hidden Gem don’t miss it! Chris & Neill Berry Uk

13 Bees is in a lovely location about 15 mins walk from the centre of Confolens. The rooms look out over the river, or the owners' garden where they keep bees - you can also book a beekeeping experience here, and buy jars of their honey. My room was clean and comfortable and I slept well - which is unsual for me! The ensuite contained a walk-in shower and there were fans in the room and shutters on the window which kept it cool during the day. There was plenty of clothes storage and no shortage of hangers. It was a lovely place to return to at the end of the day. There is outside seating on the terrace, and a shaded area in the garden, as well as local walks along by the river and into the village where there are beautiful medieval streets and picturesque views along the river. The owners, Amanda and Kevin, couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The breakfast was lovely and there's a huge bookcase on the landing with loads of books to choose from. I would love to return here, and it's great value as well!

A quiet place convenient to the road south, with no bright city lights to disturb our sleep and a good place to park the car right out front. There is little traffic and a nice view of the river, and the welcome was warm and genuine. Amanda has a huge collection of interesting books (alphabetically arranged by author!), and TV is only to be found in the lounge, which encourages rest and relaxation. Very comfortable stay!

Booked two nights en route to another destination, which gave us a day to explore Confolens. Accommodation was fairly easy to find and a short walk into town. The house is opposite the river so a lovely view from the terrace. Owners very hospitable and provided a list of places to eat in the town. Good French breakfast with home made honey. Bedroom spacious with spare bedding ( if required). Very good en suite shower with shampoo and shower gel provided. Hairdryer was good. Also use of a lounge with TV We would definitely return.

What a great find. Peaceful quiet next to the river. Amanda & Kevin the perfects hosts greeting you with a glass of cold rose wine. Just what you need after a 6 hour journey in the sun. Wonderful accommodation large comfy and very tastefully decorated room.

Amanda and Kevin are amazying hosts teamed with their beautiful home I had a wonderful stay at 13bees. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable and in this tranquil setting by the river it was lovely to chill out after a long drive. Only a short walk from centre of town where I spent an enjoyable evening at the annual music festival. “I will be back”! A&K thanks again. Karen xx
