The Old Bakehouse

Lovely cottage in picturesque village with fantastic hosts! The cottage has a great open fire and balcony. Was perfect for our family of four mountain biking holiday. Charming upside down cottage and very friendly pubs and shops in the village. The scenery in the area is beautiful and there’s easy access to the seafront at Seaton and Sidmouth. The beach at Braunscombe is a great secluded spot and well worth a day trip!

Perfect, lovely rooms, outstanding breakfast and wonderful hosts. Plenty of parking within a very short walk, a good pub with great food close by, lovely quite town. One of the best bed & breakfasts we have stayed in, and we have stayed in lots.

A lovely friendly welcome very clean comfortable with a delicious breakfast. We will definitely visit again and next time will stay for a longer time. We came to Colyton so that we could use the Tramway to Seaton and back which was lovely - really recommend

We really enjoyed our break at the Old Bakehouse in early March, and the friendly owners Steve and Fiona couldn’t be more welcoming. The freshly painted rooms are spotlessly clean as well as cosy and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with a good range of options. Being big fans of vinyl records, we really appreciated the opportunity to browse through the wide selection and choose what to play. The B&B is in the heart of Colyton, near pubs and shops, and we found it to be a great base to explore the Jurassic coast. We highly recommend!

We had a lovely short break after Christmas and our accommodation and hosts were great. The Old Bakehouse was beautiful, comfortable and friendly. Everything you want and need for your stay, The B&B was in the middle of the village and we found parking in the nearby carpark. Across the road was the pub which did great pub meals and beers. Breakfast had a great range and was delicious. We were able to explore the surrounding Devon attractions and towns. We had a lovely relaxing holiday,

From our first arrival we were met by a very friendly and happy to help host Steve. Both him and Fiona made our stay enjoyable as they couldn’t do enough for us (Bacon sandwiches may now appear on the breakfast menu). The room and the en suite we had were clean, the bed was very comfortable and the tea and coffee facilities excellent. Car parking in the street was easily available just around the corner in Govers Meadow. Although Steve and Fiona don’t supply evening meals, the pub across the road, The Kingfisher, has a very good evening menu.The B&b also allows easy access to the local resorts of Seaton, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth amongst others. The tram station from Colyton to Seaton is a 15 minute walk away. Both myself and my wife would highly recommend staying at the Old Bakehouse.
