We arrived in the evening after a full day of driving and my initial thought when entering the room was that although the furniture and fixtures were somewhat worn, the bed and bathroom appeared clean, so even though I wasn't crazy about the location, I was ready to settle in. The first sign of any trouble was that there was very little water pressure in the bathroom sink, but in the morning, while getting ready for the day, I noticed that water was all over the floor in the bathroom area as well. We called maintenance and a very nice gentleman came in to figure it out. He fixed the issue with the water pressure but didn't go into the reason for the water - it apparently was coming from an issue in another room. My husband pointed out that there was a "bubble" behind the wallpaper in the bathroom and suggested that the water might have been coming from next door. The peeling wallpaper made me start looking around. I noticed that the wallpaper was peeling badly behind my nightstand and (I know I shouldn't have looked, but I did) there was black mold growing close to the floor. Normally that would have been enough to send me scurrying, but we were in a hurry and most of the rooms at other hotels were full due to Mississippi State's homecoming. Then, sometime around 2:00 in the morning, I started to smell cigarette smoke. It became intolerable in the bathroom area, and it was a stale smell as well. It became so bad that I woke my husband and told him I would be sleeping in the car the rest of the night (which I did). I am most likely a little spoiled, but black mold and old smelling cigarette smoke are beyond my limits. I would not recommend this location to anyone. I also will not ever stay at another Quality Inn.
