Residenz am Dom Boardinghouse Apartments

Everything was excellent. My flat was big, clean, and bright. Private bathroom and a private kitchen were available. There was also a balcony. I used the gym and the swimming pool areas, which were just amazing. Super kind staff. I will come back!

It’s a seniors residence. The smell was distinct of a seniors residence. They don’t use keycards so you have to carry around a massive key with you. The beds are low and not very comfortable. The floors were very worn out. If you have mobility issues this is the perfect place but when I’m traveling on business I don’t want to feel institutionalized. The front garden is very serene. It’s a very odd feeling in this building. Nothing about the room is warm or cozy, there’s nothing that makes it feel like your in Cologne.

The Residenz am Dom, Service Apartments, Köln/Cologne Little did we know when we booked that besides the fact that this accommodation which was within easy walking distance to the Cologne Cathedral, was primarily a Seniors Residence! Truly fun to find out how the well suited Seniors live when they desire a full service accommodation! Fully equipped, 24 hour service, and exceptional facilities right in the middle of this great City! The price value relationship was there, and the 1 Bedroom/1living room assigned was perfect! Well furnished, albeit a tad old fashioned, was in great condition with a decent sized kitchenette. We enjoyed that 7 day stay to the fullest! Especially the Gym was amazing! The boss enjoyed that facility the most! The adjourning pool was especially catered for senior citizens, and provided a great opportunity for the “mature” residents with a good exercise regimen! One thing for sure, getting into the carpark takes some careful navigation, but still quite acceptable! If there was one area of concern then it was the poor WIFI connectivity, inconsistent at best, a real flaw if you need a reliable connection! However it all was made up by the great service all team members of the residence provided! If I could give 0 stars, I would. Safe yourself the trouble of booking this place. I'd booked the place for 5 nights. The morning of my check-in, I called over and over to let them know that I would be checking in the following day. I did not even want to ask for a refund for the first night. Phone was busy. Busy. Busy. No ability to connect. Then the next morning when I'm on my way to the hotel, I receive a note saying that they've CANCELED my booking. When I immediately call to clarify that I am en route, they tell me that they've already resold the rooms for all remaining 4 nights. They kept my $750 with no refund offered whatsoever. Never made an effort to contact me when I did not show up, and did not have a functional phone system to receive contact from an incoming client. No compassion on the phone. Just stuck to the letter of their BS laws. Save yourself the trouble and find a place that cares about their clients.

Appartement in een residentie voor ouderen. App op ca 200 mtr afstand van de Dom in Keulen. Royaal appartement. Bedden opgemaakt; voldoende handdoeken in de badkamer. Keukenuitrusting minimaal; 1 waterkoker 1 koekepan 1 kookpan, magnetron en koelkast. Geen koffiezetapparaat. Nescafé dus. Waarschijnlijk hebben ze de ervaring dat de bezoekers buiten de deur eten. Je kunt gebruik maken van alle faciliteiten; restaurant, fitness, zwembad. "Om de hoek" is een broodjeswinkel voor heerlijke broodjes en koffie. Onder het complex is de parkeergarage. Even zoeken naar een plek waar GEEN autonummer staat; deze is voor de bewoners. Bij het weggaan, afrekenen aan de infobalie van het complex. Complex is ook prima als met je trein komt. ca 15 minuten vanaf het station; station is direct achter de Dom. Bij binnenkomst wordt paspoort en creditcard gevraagd. Ik had thuis al een kopie van mijn paspoort gemaakt; foto en BSN-nummers zwart gemaakt. Waarom ook creditcart? Kreeg ik geen goed antwoord over. Wij hebben onze bankkaart gegeven; dus niet de creditcard.

Tolle Atmosphäre! Eine Pflegeeinrichtung mit Boardinghouse Appartements der Superklasse! Wir bekamen netten Kontakt zu den Heimbewohnern. Es fehlt an nichts. Das Frühstücksteam schien während unseres Aufenthaltes nicht sonderlich gut aufeinander eingespielt. Wir bekamen an 3 Tagen den schwarzen Tee unterschiedlich serviert: 1. fertig im Teeglas (nur noch Teebeutel herausnehmen), 2. Teeglas mit heißem Wasser zum Teebeutel-selbst-hineintun, 3. Wasser in der Thermoskanne und separate Teebeutel. Assam-Tee erhielten wir erst nach zweimaliger Bitte. An den ersten beiden Tagen war dagegen alles super eingespielt und sehr, sehr nettes Personal. Das Boardinghouse ist eine exklusive Pflegeeinrichtung (daher auch Negativ-Test verpflichtend), die einen Teil ihrer Apartments auch an Touristen und Geschäftsleute vermietet... mit Mindestaufenthalt. Ist nicht günstig, dafür wird man überrascht und erhält mehr geboten als in einem üblichen Hotel. Die Apartments sind großzügig, sehr funktional, aber auch geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Hier möchte man alt werden können! Es fehlen keine Annehmlichkeiten und wir spürten, dass das Personal dort gerne arbeitet, vor allem aber auch die ständigen Bewohner sich dort mega wohlfühlen. Wie im Film! WLAN könnte besser sein.
