Awesome experience and family resort for the kids. Food should be better.

The resort offers outstanding hospitality with staff who are warm and attentive.The food is absolutely delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Every meal feels like a fine-dining experience with great variety. A perfect blend of luxury, taste, and comfort. Prerna ,Mekal , Shashi kala, Preyash, Vishnu, Tirupati were exceptionally courteous, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Special thanks to your HR Shakti Velu for his warmth and support. His dedication truly made my experience more memorable. He shows such a heartfelt gratitude and respect towards me. — highly recommended!

About the Property: The property is located at a nice location, with lots of trees, greenery and a relaxing atmosphere. Reasonably large property with different categories of rooms. We had booked a Pond Suite which was good. Now on to the details. FRONT DESK: Onboarding/Check in process was quite smooth. We were offered a welcome drink on arrival and the front desk staff were quite warm and pleasant. TRANSFER TO ROOM: The whole property is equipped with just one buggy. So mostly, you have to wait for the buggy. We went walking to our room. Luggage took some time to reach. ROOMS: We had booked Pond Suite which is adjacent to the pond. The balcony opens up to the pond view, but the pond needs to be cleaned as it stinks at times. Rooms are cleaned on request only and not on daily basis. FOOD &BEVERAGE: Just about okay. We tried Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Breakfast is the best among all. Breakfast spread is limited and is mostly repeated. Lunch was okay. Dinner buffet was not great. Overall food quality and hygiene needs improvement. SERVICE Most of the staffs are amateurs and not trained for the hospitality industry. Needs improvement. ACTIVITIES: Outdoor Activity: We tried bullock cart ride and pottery. Both were good. Kids enjoyed the ride and pottery making. We also used the turf and played cricket. Guided River walk is arranged in the mornings around 9:30. Its a 10 min walk to a nearby river. It was okay, but we couldn't venture and walk in the river as the water flow was more at that point. POOL: Pool is next to the restaurant and is good. Needs to be cleaned on a regular basis as there are trees around and the droppings from the trees might be annoying at times. Also, need to ensure pool attire with all guests. Overall, it is a good property and the stay was comfortable barring some of the concerns that are highlighted here.

Some positives first: 1. The food we ordered for dinner was really nice. In particular the gajar halwa was delicious 2. The staff try their best but are visibly over whelmed / stretched on busy days like during the X Mas break when we visited 3. The property has a neat looking swimming pool, a well equipped children play area 4. The activities - bullock cart ride, pottery sessions are super fun for families with kids Now for the areas of improvement: 1. The room we stayed in had a wash basin outside the bathroom & inside the room, just behind our bed! Imagine someone gargling, spitting in the basin while you're sleeping in the bed just behind it - yucky! 2. The activities - river walk, bullock cart ride, pottery etc. are all bunched up in the morning at the same time & this is exactly the time the staff calls for you to check out! Please spread these activities out during the day for better utilisation of these facilities. 3. The staff did not give us a tour / explain to us the different facilities within the resort. For eg. we were not even aware that there was a play area for kids until we discovered the same - again only in the morning we were due to check out. There was an indoor room where there was a TT table, some other indoor games but the room smelt & looked more like a store room - there was no ventilation & the AC was switched off. The area outside the resort is beautiful - the resort should encourage guests to explore on a morning walk; not done currently. 4. The breakfast was ATROCIOUS! Never could i imagine inedible idlis as hard as a brick in the heart of Tamil Nadu. The watermelon juice was really more water than fruit. Just completely inexcusable. We asked for masala tea & were told that it was chargeable! Even the Lemon Trees of this world serve masala chai with breakfast. The restaurant staff, other than the staff that served us dinner was in general pretty unhelpful. 5. The area outside seemed really nice - we asked if we could take the cycles out for a ride in the morning & were refused. The cycles anyways were broken & need to be fixed before some kids falls & breaks something. There is one other serious issue that i must highlight here - i saw servers, housekeeping staff that were very clearly minor by age & by that i mean not older than maybe 13-14! It was horrible to see children around the same age as our kid serving us, cleaning our rooms. The owners need to self introspect & review their business ethics voluntarily...

Our stay at Coco Lagoon by Great Mount in Pollachi was an insredible tropical escape! Surrounded by swaying coconut trees, the resort is a true tropical paradise with a serene and lush environment that makes you feel instantly relaxed. They have a beautiful pond where guests can enjoy a peaceful boat ride, adding to the charm of the property. There are plenty of activities to keep you engaged, from pottery sessions and a nostalgic bullock cart ride to an evening barbecue with live entertainment and a mesmerizing magic show by a renowned artist. These unique experiences make the stay all the more enjoyable. We stayed in the Tropical Suite, which was wonderful, but the resort also offers other accommodation options like suites with pond-view and pool views and private villas with swimming pools, catering to various preferences. The food was delightful, and the breakfast buffet spread was decent with a good variety to kick-start the day. For those looking for a wonderful stay option while exploring nearby destinations like Valparai, Coco Lagoon is a perfect choice. It’s an ideal base for a rejuvenating getaway, surrounded by the beauty of nature and coconut groves. Highly recommended!

Though a small property, Rooms and property are well maintained. 5 star to food. 0 star to few of the staffs especially the front desk, room service. Camp fire was just a gimmick with just smoke and no actual fire. Discriminating guest which is the saddest part of the whole trip. Requested to switch on plunge pool filter multiple times, but didn't. Nothing much to see around. Overly priced against the amenities and service.
