David's Beach Hotel

This is a small hotel right on a beautiful beach that offers amazing privacy and tranquility. You will be one of only a few guests and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Meals are served on an open-air dining patio to the sounds of waves lapping on the beach only a few feet away. Rooms are basic but extremely clean and very comfortable with a separate living room and beachfront balconies. Mary the manager lives on-site and is always ready to assist in arranging tours or taking care of special needs or requests. If you are looking for a resort full activities, then David's Beach Hotel (and Union Island itself!) are probably not for you. But if you want to get away from it all with snorkeling, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding at your fingertips, then this will be your little slice of paradise. For a change of pace, Sparrows restaurant and beach bar are next door. The main village is about 20 minutes walk and has many restaurants and bars catering to visiting yachts.

My wife and I spent two glorious weeks at David's Beach Hotel. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, Mary (Hotel Manager) was there to ensure our every need was taken care of. Our room was spacious and had a beautiful unobstructed view of the beach and ocean from our deck. All of our meals were served in the lovely beach side restaurant and reflected local Caribbean cuisine and fresh produce. Everything is quite close and we were able to walk to town and hike around the whole island. We always felt comfortable around town and all the locals we met were very friendly. It is very easy to travel to the other small islands by water taxi or ferry. One of our most enjoyable day trips was hiking over to Chatham Bay for lunch and returning by water taxi. Mary was always available to assist with any question, reservations, taxi, etc. We enjoyed several local restaurants for fresh fish, lobster, pizza, etc. Also, we really loved the rum punch cocktails at Sparrow's Bar a short walk down the beach. We plan to return someday soon.

Super location run by lovely Mary who seems to do everything, and therein lies the problem. She needs more support from the owners, who should also invest in the hotel rooms. Overpriced for what we received and the all inclusive was limited. Hotel could be brilliant but owners need to invest and not sell a facility that under delivers

We spent 2 weeks at this charming beautiful hotel. It was idyllic. Soft white sand, warm shallow tropical waters. Large room, with beautiful views of the sea and a green bay untouched by tourism. Waking to the sound of gentle waves. Lazing the day away on comfortable sun loungers and playing on the hotel’s free paddle boards and kayaks. Snorkelling from the beach ( saw a ray). Eating lovely home cooked food and drinking cocktails. The staff, and in particular manager Mary are super friendly and helpful. If you want nightlife this isn’t for you. If you want to relax and properly de-stress in a quiet island paradise it most definitely is. We didn’t want to leave.

What an all around beautiful place. Mary, Kia and Petra were some of the most amazing staff we encountered on or 3 week vacation in the islands. The rooms were nice with your own veranda to enjoy your morning coffee. The views are fabulous! The breakfast was first class. Clem with fairdeal taxi and tours picked us up from the beach and took us on a fabulous trip to Mayreu. We swam with the turtles, enjoyed snorkeling the reefs, and don't miss Happy Island while there either. We rented a side by side the next day and toured the island and Friget island Hope to return one day!

Great location on the nicest beach, kind staff. Spacious room, clean and great balcony to relax! Next to Sparrows Beach Bar for meal options. (more expensive then expected). Our boat tour guide (Fair Deal) was able to pick up us up right from the beach. Lovely stay and wanted to add on another night. We understand renovations will be done over the summer- can’t wait to see what you do!!!
