Leworthy Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast

Our initial plan had been to stay at a different property but, due to an unforeseen change in circumstances, we and our German friends found ourselves staying with Neil and Kirsty at Leworthy Farmhouse. It turned out this was a massive stroke of good fortune. We don't find ourselves in the West Country very often due to the distance but if I was to try to imagine the perfect Devon B&B, it would be Leworthy Farmhouse (it would be perfect anywhere actually). It's surrounded by quiet, rural Devon country lanes but isn't at all far from Holsworthy if you need any of the amenities a town can offer. Neil and Kirsty are very warm and friendly; easy-going and easy to chat to. The rooms are great, well-appointed, clean etc. The shower in Room 5 is awesome. Breakfast includes bacon, sausage, hog's pudding and eggs - all sourced directly from the farm and all delicious. There are plenty of alternative options for those who prefer continental. Kirsty also makes chocolate brownie and lemon drizzle cake to which guests are invited to help themselves. I don't tend to write reviews very often but Leworthy Farmhouse has motivated me enough to log on. If we ever find ourselves back in this part of the West Country, we'll be straight on to Neil and Kirsty to see if we can stay with them. If you're looking for a place in the area, don't look any further.

Absolutely deserving of its fantastic ratings on Trip Advisor! We stayed 2 nights as a coupe, beautiful room over looking the lake, amazing breakfasts, superb hosts and beautiful setting in Devon countryside. Would recommend to everyone & anyone!

Lovely B and B. Lovely and clean and in lovely surroundings. Breakfasts were delicious. Hosts were very nice and accommodating. Had lake view room which was very comfortable. Lovely evening platters orovided, if ordered in advance if staying in.

My wife, her mum and I spent the weekend at the Leworthy Farmhouse as my mother-in-law is visiting UK for the first time and we wanted to show her the countryside life in England as she loves nature and the peace and quiet of the countryside. We really had a great time. The family owning the farmhouse gave us a warm welcome and made us feel at home. The room given was excellent and well maintained with soft beds and pillows, a neat bathroom and beverage provisions. We had the pleasure to interact with the family and a couple who was staying at the farmhouse for a week. It was really the kind of atmosphere we were looking for. The breakfasts were amazing and we enjoyed every moment. We will definitely consider coming here again in future. Thank you for accommodating us and for your services.

We booked the Jubilee Cottage in May for a 6-night stay at the August's last bank holiday weekend and paid the full cost £900 in advance. There are two cottages in the property Jubilee and Leeside with Jubilee Cottage being the more expensive one. When we arrived, Jubilee Cottage was already occupied. I did not know at the time which one is Jubilee and which one is Leeside. I just assumed that the empty cottage is Jubilee and checked in. During our stay, I met the land lady Kirsty several times but she did not even mention a word. It was only when we finished the holiday and was on our way home, I checked their website again and realised that we had actually stayed in Leeside Cottage. I assume that they must have double booked Jubilee and put us in Leeside deliberately without informing us. Actually if they would have been honesty with us about the double booking, we would be ok staying with Leeside Cottage anyway. I called Kirsty who admitted about the mistake. But so far I have not yet receive the confirmation about refunding us the cost in difference. I am very disappointed about their behaviour. It is not about money. It is about doing business in honesty.

The bestB & B in Devon by far. We had a brilliant experience. Booking was easy and uncomplicated, we were kept updated at all times The website is very informative and easy to navigate. When we arrived we were greeted by Kirsty with a warm smile and great hospitality ( the chocolate brownie was delicious). We had room 2 which is at the front, spacious and airy with a dual aspect. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful even the chickens are well behaved. The bed was very comfortable and it was the best sleep we have had at a B & B ever. The garden is relaxing and it is nice to stroll around the lake. In the morning we had a fantastic breakfast with Neil looking after us with much care and attention and is a mine of information if you need advice on places to go and the best route to take. Would highly recommend to all.
