Wonderful guest house in small town - basic but cute accommodations- more of a real Irish experience than in a big hotel

Myself and my husband and 2 kids went into Myles for dinner I had Chicken and Mushroom Vol a Vant which had a little sauce so was dry and my husband had Fish of the Day which was so tasteless and Dry my 3yr old couldn't even eat the sausages as they were to spicy ... we eat half of it as we were all so hungry but I said it to the lady who was very ignorant and soar and had NO Manners .... when I went up to pay for the bill which for 4 of us cost €71 😱 which don't mind paying if food was good ....her attitude she really didnt give a dame about the customers so we came out very disappointed and to chalk it all off myself and my husband have been sick we will NEVER eat there again 0 STARS Ps They tipex the price on the menu and wrote a higher price on there very unprofessional

The only saving grace was the lovely waiting/bar staff who were very polite and helpful. Shower did not work, tv did not work, bathroom tiny, decor 1970s , drab and cramped. Headboard cracked , cheap double glazing which meant you could hear every sound from street and surrounding pubs up to 3am. Breakfast cold definatly would not recommend. No management to be seen and no one at reception. Did not want to complain to waiting staff as it was not their fault. A place to be avoided.

I read a lot of the reviews for Myles Creek before booking and they were varied to say the least so I want to give a very honest review of my stay, which was with my wife for 3 nights in August 2023. First off this is not a modern franchise type hotel so if that's what you are looking for it's not for you. The building is an old building and while the rooms are certainly dated in style our room was spotless and comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast has 3 options full Irish, scrambled eggs and toast or vegetarian, my wife doesn't like fried eggs so asked if she could have scrambled eggs with the full irish, the lovely lady who served us said this wasn't an option, seems odd but aside from that the full irish breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. The bar down stairs is a really nice bar that has excellent food and again helpful and friendly staff. So all in all in terms of bang for your buck I highly recommend Myle's Creek and I most certainly will return, just manage your expectations if a big fancy hotel is what you are after, think more family run, wholesome no frills and you wont be disappointed.

Rooms The room was like something from the 60’s the mattress should have been replaced 10 years ago ,we were charged double the rooms worth the manager was too much of a coward to come and speak to us although he was there the staff were obviously scared of the bully and were programmed to say he won’t be in until 11 , the breakfast room does not open until 9am so you don’t get your meal until 9.30 at the earliest which is far to late if you are on holiday . Noteworthy details The shower did not work in our room the water came for a couple of minutes and then went off altogether .The hotel advertise parking this is not the case parking is just on a very busy street overall a bad experience and I would advise anyone only stay here if you have exhausted all other possibility’s

WARNING TO TOURISTS: your reservation means nothing here and the owner is the most unprofessional person I’ve encountered. I encourage you to read his responses to other reviews, including the unprofessional response to my review I will surely receive. Below is why I encourage you to book elsewhere. 2 months ago we booked a room, which was confirmed by the hotel via email. A week before our stay, we received another email from the hotel about our stay. After flying from the US, we arrived and were told they had overbooked and we could not stay there. Without any input from us or notifying us, the staff booked us a room at a local B&B. Unfortunately, the B&B we were moved to was very poor. We would not have booked the B&B ourselves, and there were no other hotels available in Kilkee for us. Feeling stuck and uncomfortable, we wrote a respectful but firm email to the owner, informing him how disappointed we were with him overbooking rooms. We informed him that we felt we needed to leave online reviews so that travelers can make informed decisions about where to stay. Here is the email response we received: “That's unfortunate, we have no control over the condition of other premises other than previous guests who have stayed there found no fault, indeed you are the first to express such bad experiences, doubly unfortunate that if you called us immediately we had a cancellation ourselves that would have suited you, its not about the money for us we like to accommodate people and a local wedding many of them friends and customers will always get precedence. Having said that I feel that we did look after you to the best of our ability, we were under no obligation to drive you to the alternative accommodation and Mary took her own time off and drove her own vehicle to help you guys. If you want to jeopardise our business with nasty online comments that's up to you but remember you have no idea what Myles'Creek accommodation is like so please no comments on that. You are still in town, I'm still working, call in and we can talk about it like mature people if you wish, otherwise off you go on your keyboard warrior outing and you'll be forever in our thoughts. Ger” If they had a cancellation, then they had an empty room when we got there. Why would a hotel not give that room to the two customers standing there and with a confirmed reservation? The owner admits in writing that he will accommodate locals over travelers. So, if you are a traveler, you should strongly reconsider booking here. You may be left stranded and without a room at all, and Ger will feel no sympathy for you, as he later stated to me. It is incredulous that a business owner thinks the best course of action is to insult us and call me a “keyboard warrior” after a personal email expressing disappointment. 0 stars, have to click 1 star for this because I can’t leave it 0 stars, bad service, I don’t normally do reviews but my whole family got there food and I was completely forgotten about, had to cancel the order and didn’t get any apology from any of the staff members, they all had bad attitudes and I’m frustrated after leaving the place now. My nephew asked for salad in his burger, never got it, all the food that was given out wasn’t great to my family, if not for them being hungry they wouldn’t have eaten it, don’t waste your time coming here 👍
